Designer Handbag Auctions Help Fuel Important Causes
April 20, 2007
A new trend these days is celebrities donating their designer handbags to be auctioned off for a cause. It’s great for consumers because we can nab hot bags at great prices and more importantly, some great causes get their much-needed research funding. Here are a few auctions going on now.
International Foundation for Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders (IFFGD): Check out the yellow patent leather bag from Donatella Versace’s personal collection or this black Gucci clutch by Camille Grammer. The auction will last until Wednesday, May 9, and will feature 24 handbags. The proceeds will help benefit research for digestive diseases that affect one in five women in the United States.
Nancy Davis Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis: eBelle5 recently posted about this charity to help benefit research for MS, a disabling neurological condition, with which I recently discovered my sister has been diagnosed. To think that just going shopping could help find a cure to this horrible disease is enough motivation to bid on this stunning gold bag owned by Scarlett Johansson.
Clothes Off Our Back: This is an ongoing celebrity auction where you can bid on clothes, accessories, handbags and more. All of the money goes to children’s charities.
