Finds for Fall: Chic Cardigans
August 13, 2007
Though it’s still sweltering outside, it’s not too early to think about stocking up on fall basics like the must-have cardigan. From long to cropped, striped to solid, it seems you can never have too many. Throw them on when it’s still cool and crisp in the morning with the smell of autumn in the air. I've scoured through the dizzying array of cardigans and found a few favorites at price points for every budget.
The first is a Libertine Cardigan Sweater in navy with green accents (but it comes in girly pink and purple, too). It’s veering towards preppy, but fall's all about back to school, right? Pair it with a pair of khakis and you have the perfect outfit for heading to the farmer’s market or the office. Get it at Target for $30.
The Banana Republic Snap button cardigan is the perfect piece to wear with jeans or to the office. With an oversize button, soft merino wool and a fashion-forward cut, you're bound to fall in love with this budget-friendly find. Price: $68.00
Design History Bobble Stitch Cardigan ($158 @ Nordstrom) is perfect for fall as it hits two trends; grey and knits with unique texture. Perfect for everyday or for a dinner date.
The Cut-Away Cardigan by James Perse is the most directional and elegant, and priced at $475, it should be. The funnel neck and draping make this a piece you can wear for seasons to come, and it’s made of uber-soft cashmere so you can stay warm while looking super chic.
