Good Question: Modest Low Rise Jeans
May 11, 2007
From the message boards: I remember listening to a morning show this spring or summer (I think the Today show) and there was mention of jeans that are still low in the front but higher in the back (to prevent the sitting and bending over problem). Does anyone know the brand or even heard of this?
The answer: Women have been searching for the perfect jeans almost as long as we’ve been looking for the perfect red lipstick and the perfect man. Your search for cool but modest jeans is now over (good luck on the other two). The following denim brands are low-rise in the front but have you covered in the back: Paige Premium Denim is the eponymously named brand of Paige Adams-Geller, a former “fit girl” for other denim standbys such as Seven and True Religion. Try the Laurel Canyon style, which suits a range of body types. Found at Cavender’s, Seven for All Mankind’s Jagger style is about the highest rise the brand offers and has a boot-cut leg that looks great on nearly anyone. And, Levi’s 550 “Relaxed Fit” Men’s (yep, men’s) jeans give you the feeling of wearing your boyfriend’s great-fitting jeans without having to share! They come in a number of washes and can be found at goodysonline.com.
