I love it when my kids whip out the art supplies. It keeps them occupied and away from the TV, and it gets their creative juices flowing (that’s them above last week painting and coloring with markers). But that mess they leave behind…especially on their clothes? I can do without.
So thank goodness for our friends at Real Simple who’ve made a handy guide on how to remove paint stains and other common kid stains like chalk, glue and gum from clothes.
Here’s their tip for removing paint:
Wipe off any dried acrylic or water-based paint residue with a paper towel. Sponge on a solution of laundry detergent and warm water. Once the paint has softened, remove as much as possible with a dull knife or a spoon. Rinse and repeat until most of the stain has been removed. Machine wash.
