Whether your hair is long or short, messy beach waves are always a good look. And believe it or not, this look is very simple and can be done very quickly. Follow the easy steps below to get the perfect beach waves.
Step One: Always start with a heat protectant! Drybar’s “Hot Toddy” is a lightweight lotion that protects hair up to 450 degrees When your hair is damp, work a small amount from your roots to your ends.
Step Two: Add in a texture spray. OUAI’s Wave Spray is a a great option. Shake well and mist your damp hair from roots to tip. Let your hair absorb the spray before blow drying on the cool setting.
Step Three: Once your hair is dry, it’s time to add some waves. Your hair should already have some great texture thanks to the wave spray, use a styling wand to add some defined pieces. Take random 2 inch sections of hair and lightly wrap the ends around the wand a couple of times! (Note: If you wrap your hair from roots to end, you will get very tight curls which is opposite of the look we are going for!) Once you are done adding in waves, simply shake your hair at the roots to make sure it is loosened and relaxed.
Step Four: You’re not done quite yet; it’s time to lock in the waves. Spritz a light amount of hairspray all around your hair to keep your waves in tact. Aveda’s “Brilliant” Medium Hold Hair Spray gives a serious long-lasting hold, while still keeping hair looking loose and natural.
That’s it–perfect beach waves in a flash!
