The 125 Best New Beauty Launches Of 2023

If there’s one trend street style stars have us convinced we must try, it’s loose-fitting silk shorts. They’re a grown-up alternative to cut-offs and they have a way of making your legs look phenomenal. Problem is, we can never decide if we should dress them up with heels and an equally pretty top or if we should play it cool and pair them with sneakers or flat sandals and a plain tee. What’s a girl to do?

The obvious answer? Turn to the street stylers who pull off silk shorts so well. And that’s exactly what we did. We looked to 3 of our favorite street style bloggers and broke down their best silk shorts ensembles so you can pull the look off in real life. Get your notepads ready–class is in session.

1. Wear a printed set. The first–and probably easiest–way to wear silk shorts is to choose a pair that are part of a printed set. Spring has tons of gorgeous matching printed shorts and tops, so this look is a no-brainer. Take your cue from Shea of Peace Love Shea who rocked a super cute Rebecca Minkoff printed set with nude cap toe pumps and a simple shoulder bag.

2. Dress them down. Not feeling the matchy-matchy look? That’s cool. Nicole from Frankie Hearts Fashion has another no-fail way to wear silk shorts. She dressed them down perfectly with a striped tee, a chambray shirt and Converse sneakers. It’s literally our favorite warm-weather weekend outfit.

3. Dress them up. Now because these are silk shorts we’re talking about, we get the inclination to make them feel a little fancy. If you want to glam them up, follow in Befrassy’s footsteps and throw on a structured blazer and some serious heels with your silk shorts.  You can’t go wrong with a nude and white color palette.
