Prince George's Godparents Announced...And It's Not Pippa Or Prince Harry
October 23, 2013
In case you didn’t know, today’s a big day across the pond for the Royals. Prince George is having his christening! The ceremony will take place a little later this morning at 10 AM EST, but the little guy’s godparents were just announced. After MUCH speculation that Prince Harry and Pippa would be on this list…they’re not. Instead, Will and Kate decided to go with seven close friends. Here’s the official list from The Clarence House website:
As predicted, Oliver Baker, William van Cutsem and Emilia Jardine-Paterson were all chosen as godparents. Baker attended St. Andrews with The Duke and Duchess, while van Cutsem and Jardine-Paterson are friends of The Duke and Duchess respectively.
The rest of the list includes royals, Zara Tindall (the Duke of Cambridge’s cousin) and Earl Grosvenor (the son of The Duke of Westminster). Then there’s Julia Samuel, a close friend of Princess Diana and Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton who served as the private secretary to Will, Kate and Harry from 2005-2012.
Are you as surprised as we are that Pippa and Prince Harry didn’t make the cut? Let us know in the comments below!
