SheFinds Gifts: Oprah's Favorite Things
November 22, 2005
Every year Oprah’s holiday show ignites a seasonal shopping frenzy. Her infamous ‘list’ is all about the hottest gifts of the year, in every price range. There is no end to the power of Oprah’s reach. Last year her list sparked the sales of the SONY VAIO® S260 Notebook computer, Bourjois lip products, Dooney & Bourke bags, a Starbucks Gift Card and much more, everything from electronics to bedding and sweater twin-sets. She usually throws a shout out to a resort destination for the best in R&R and a few gifty items like a “Tea-of-the-Month” club or a turbo washing machine. You know, stuff that gets her groupies all a-twitter and has everyone spending their Christmas bonuses before the money hits the bank. But, you can’t deny, the lady has taste and if it makes her list it’s hot.
The List is kept top secret until the show airs. SheFinds found out that one of Oprah’s favorite things are a pair of Ugg Uptowns, also one of SheFinds’ favorite things!
The List is continues to leak!
philosophy hope in a jar along with philosophy’s state of grace bath products made the list. SJP is on there with her Lovely perfume. (Another item that’s going to be hard to come by as the holidays draw closer, find it at Nordstrom.com)
The ‘Oprah’ Sweater from Ralph Lauren’s Black Label- in caramel from polo.com.
Oprah’s own show is one of her favorite things, find the The Oprah Winfrey Show 20th Anniversary DVD Collection on Amazon.
The iPod made SheFinds List too.
The Sony VAIO® FJ Notebook (1499.00) comes in a variety of chic colors, find the FJ only on sonystyle.com.
The Nike Free 5.0 ID is a shoe, not a some fancy personal identification device for athletes. Find it at Nike.com.
Pure Color Cords (160-170.00) made the cut and are cut to fit. Find them at purecolorjeans.com.
Find the luxe shawl collar robe (145.00) on kashwere.com.
Burberry Coats and leather shoulder bags along with the Sony VAIO® made the list again this year. It raises the question of just how much is Oprah and how much is mass marketing. And there was a lot of food on her list which is ironic, to say the least. Oprah’s favorites included popcorn, croissants, and oatmeal raisin cookie dough. The Deeply Fudgey Brownies site was experiencing technical difficulty because of overwhelming traffic after the show aired this afternoon. That was pretty much the case on every site I visited that was fortunate to proclaim a product that is Oprah approved. For more info on Oprah’s Favorite Things, check out oprah.com.
