Will Kale Manicures Be The New Green Juice? Nails Inc. Thinks So

It feels like we've been hearing for years about the benefits of kale. Celebs love the "superfood" (whatever the heck that means) and anyone who's been to a juice bar has probably tried a drink with the leafy green. Just when we finally came around to including the veggie in our diet, Nails Inc. decides we need kale on our nails, too. Yes, you read that right. The Beyoncé-approved nail polish brand is launching a line of kale-infused polish. Vogue UK reports that the 5-piece "NailKale" collection, plus four of Nail's Inc.'s top sellers, ""have been enhanced with the same kale extract and the brand's Regenerating Complex for colour with conditioning benefits." Oh, and of course skinny minnay British socialite, Alexa Chung, was just announced as the brand's new spokeswoman. The girl is probably a huge fan of kale. We can just see women lining up at he nail salon, fighting over this polish that promises to enhance your nail beds. Will kale nails be the next green juice? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below! Look out for the Nails Inc. NailKale line to hit in stores and online this August. All The Other Chicks With The Pumped Up Kicks: Superga X Urban Outfitters

When it comes to footwear, I am very deliberately not a tomboy. With the exception of the gym, and my daily commute, it is difficult to find me in flats, let alone sneakers. But this awesome Superga X Urban Outfitters sneaker has me dying to try out that Alexa Chung/Lower East Side look of a ditsy dress, denim jacket, and low-top sneakers--or, even better, a pair of ripped shorts, menswear-inspired blazer, and some awesome pumped up kicks. Superga X UO Platform Sneaker (These also come in grey) $88, Urban Outfitters In addition to their exclusive collaboration on the platform-ked-love-child above, UO carries a few more select Supergas. I would love to wear the floral pair to bop around the city on a weekend, or the glitter pair to a concert. Excuse-moi while I channel my inner hipster-chic, and shop the rest of the collection in our slideshow. SHOP SUPERGA X URBAN OUTFITTERS NOW P.S. The Supergas are obviously Alexa-approved--she recently became the brand's spokesperson. A.C., just be my best friend already, will you? Which Came First, The “Alexa” Or The “PS 1”: The Battle Of The Thousand Dollar Satchels

Mulberry's Alexa Bag ($1,450) and Proenza Schouler's PS 1 Bag ($2,350) When I wrote a post on the immense success of the Mulberry Alexa bag yesterday, all my time spent studying the bags made me realize just how similar they are to Proenza Schouler's PS 1 satchels. And although this is hardly the first time two high end designers have made similar "it" bags, it still begs the question of which came first? (more…)

Superga Sneakers: The Latest Thing Alexa Chung Has That We Want

When Alexa Chung did her first Alexa Chung for Madewell line, complete with funny doodles on t-shirts, we were into it, but we didn't realize how long Alexa's fashion star would last. She brought back the clogs, made jean shorts non-trashy, and proved to us that button down shirts were no longer meant for the office. We stalk her Twitter and quite frankly, just love everything she puts on. Lately, she's shared her favorite Madewell picks, which, btw, sold out almost immediately. Now that she's the face of Superga sneakers, we find ourselves wanting a pair. (more…)

Madewell’s Scholar Satchel Looks A Lot Like Mulberry–For A Third Of The Price

Not that I'm complaining. I love the style of this simple, collegiate canvas handbag of this Madewell Scholar satchel--it works so well with all of the utilitarian trends I love this spring, and it definitely reminds me of the Mulberry Alexa bag (named for Alexa Chung, of course.) What's interesting to note is that Alexa Chung did a line for Madewell this past fall--I wonder if the designers were inspired by her. Anyway, back to the bag. Instead of costing me a fortune, this one is just $138. That's a handbag I can endorse. Follow the author of this post on Twitter @shefindseileen.

More Reasons To Love The Stylist-Free, Thrift-Loving Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung's stock went up this weekend, when she admitted to the New York Times that she wants to "look like Kurt Cobain," and doesn't have a stylist. Calling her an "It Girl," was, frankly, old news, but the piece also revealed our favorite pin-thin MTV VJ-gone-fashion icon will star in "Thrift America," which will air on PBS next summer. The show will feature Chung trolling for vintage treasures at thrift stores, estate sales, and more. Raise your hand if you wish you could go along. As an homage to the "it girl," here are 3 trends the world might not have ever known, if not for Alexa Chung's magic fashion want: Vintage Lace Dresses: Alexa's love of vintage is palpable, she's pulled off so many sweet, babydoll lacy dresses we want to try the look. This ModCloth Sweet, Sweet Fantasy Dress ($94.99) pretty much nails it. This Alexa Chung For Madewell Camel Coat Is On-Trend And Irresistible

By now, you may know: camel coats are a big item to lust after for fall. The amazing thing is that it's so classic, you'll never regret your purchase (unlike some other trends we'd like to forget, ahem, harem pants). Leave it to Alexa Chung, above, whose Alexa Chung for Madewell line is a huge hit with the fashion set. If you're in the market for a camel coat for fall, look no further: This perfectly tailored Alexa Chung for Madewell coat ($275) in camel, is lined in plaid (it also comes in navy) and will keep you on-trend, garner compliments, and best of all, it'll get along famously with every single thing in your closet. Check out our guide to cashmere, gloves and leather jackets while you're at it, as well, plus more best find of the day posts.

Camel Coats Are Huge For Fall–But These Prices Aren’t

Classic camel coats are one of this fall's best trends--Blake Lively and Alexa Chung pull it off brilliantly, above. Completely classic, and way more interesting than your boring black one you've been wearing for 3 seasons: try it out without committing fully--these 4 are all under $200. This ASOS Wool Hooded Duffle coat ($126.38) is fall perfection, with tons of pockets. Or go more streamlined with the BB Dakota Riberton coat ($120) that resembles Alexa's, above. Be super warm and on trend with a faux fur collar, a la this B Dakota Lamarr coat ($120), or try an empire waist Michael Michael Kors babydoll coat ($177, from $295) with a hood for added warmth. Check out celebrity sunglasses, celebrity handbags, plus the best hats and gloves to wear with it, so by the time the cool weather shows up, you're completely prepared.

Sienna Miller And Emma Watson Tie For The Shortest Shorts at Glastonbury

As you can see, cut-off shorts were the biggest trend at England's Glastonbury music festival. Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Alexa Chung, Kelis and Emma Watson were all seen wearing the style. It almost seems like these ladies entered into some sort of who-can-wear-the-shortest-shorts contest - and they are all winning. Whether you're bold enough to go with the shortest short cutoffs, or prefer a more classic denim style, we plucked a few jean styles to try: If you want to try the distressed, cutoff look at home, we recommend these cool Current/Elliott The Boyfriend shorts ($163). This faded style is just the like ones the celebs wore. These Genetic Denim Dakota Cutoff Boyfriend shorts ($154) are a great every day pair - the true blue wash goes with everything, and they aren't overly distressed or too short. If you would prefer a more relaxed  pair, go for these Free People "Rugged & Ripped" Cutoff Denim shorts ($68). The price is right, and the style is flattering, even if you don't have a petite frame. If you're wary of the cutoff look, try a rolled-up pair like these Joe's Jeans 'Sammy' Roll Hem Stretch Denim shorts ($98). You will love the dark wash and relaxed fit of this go-to weekend pair. Their web store is now live and chock full of goodies that we can actually buy today. Good thing it's Friday--this just shot our workday. Here are three items that we will probably buy today: Oxfords are so popular because they're comfortable, and you can wear them all year long. These Madewell Lace-up Oxfords ($168) come in a neutral hue that will work with any color. A loose tunic is way more comfortable, and stylish, than a basic tee for summer. This Madewell Plaid Summer Tunic ($78) can be dressed up or down, and we love the way they belted it for more structure. Mixed metal necklaces are the trend this season, (check out Fenton/Fallon for J.Crew) and we love the unexpected jewels on this  Madewell colordrop jewels and chain necklace ($58). Stay up-to-date on designer deals on our online sample sale page, check out a sneak peek of Alexa Chung's collection for Madewell, and then see our guides to the best necklaces, the best flat sandals, and the best floral dresses.

3 Affordable Alternatives To Alexa Chung’s $1,250 Mulberry Satchel

Net-a-Porter just stocked up on Alexa Chung's sold out everywhere namesake Alexa Mulberry Bag ($1,250) in black. We understand why women are shelling out big bucks for the expensive bag--it's gorgeous and versatile--but if you, like us, are saving up for a summer vacation, here are three comparable satchels that are equally as cute. This Topshop Medium Leather Buckle Satchel ($100) has a great tan color that will work all year round. You can either carry it by the top handle, similar to Chung, or wear it as a cross body bag. We love the mink color on this ASOS Leather Slot Through Satchel ($109.91) that will match perfectly with your greige nails. This Melie Bianco satchel ($57.79) comes with a detachable leather strap and it will add a touch of masculinity to any floral dress. Madewell Will Finally Launch An E-Commerce Site

Exciting news: Madewell, J.Crew's cool sister line, will bring their wares online with their own e-commerce site. Gigi Guerra, Madewell's marketing director, revealed to Refinery 29 that starting mid June you can shop everything from the brand online--even Alexa Chung's Madewell collaboration available this fall. We will keep you updated on the exact launch date, but in the meantime, check out some Madewell products that are available now on Shopbop: Madewell is known for their printed scarves, and this Madewell Metallic Plaid Scarf ($48) is a fun option for transitioning into summer. We love the mix of chains and rhinestones in this Madewell Chain & Rhinestone Jigsaw Necklace ($88). It's edgy and glam at the same time. Madewell makes great jeans in trendy shapes that fit well and don't cost a ton of money. These Madewell Leggings Jeans ($95) come in a slimming dark wash and will fit like a glove. This Madewell Floaty Floral Dress ($158) is a good option if you want a floral dress that you can wear to work and on the weekends. 4 Bad ’90s Trends We Never Expected To Be Cool Again

Fashion faux-pas from the '90s makes us cringe--yet some of the big trends are here to stay--at least for awhile. And dare we say, some of them are kind of growing on us.  Here's our blast from the past trends to take note of, so you don't make those same styling mistakes this time around. Combat Boots In the early 90's, Claire Danes played a perpetually angsty and grunge-loving adolescent on My So Called Life.  Today, much less angsty Emma Roberts looks more casual-chic than punk rock concert ready--but the combat boots are back. This Aqua blazer ($68.60, down from $98 captures the look perfectly. What do you think about Bess' ($460) take on Doc Martens by adding blinging gold grommets to the tops of combat boots? Shoulder Pads Looking back on Dynasty we can now understand that it wasn't exactly the pinnacle of high fashion.  Joan Collins went all out with a colorblock jumpsuit, but we much prefer Kim Kardashian's glittering party girl look. Strong shoulders (whether shoulder pads are added or not) are everywhere. This Alice + Olivia sequin dress ($485)  is no exception. Acid Wash Jeans The power of acid wash jeans was once so strong that even the guys on Beverly Hills 90210 wore them.  We've stopped idolizing Dylan since, but the allure of the acid wash has not faded.  Take a cue from Nicole Richie and pair them with hippy chic pieces inspired by the 1960s, so people don't mistake you for a member of the Peach Pit clique. These Michael Michael Kors skinny jeans ($44.90, down from $99.50)are great if you want to test, not invest in the acid wash trend.  Add a  floral crocheted blouse, like this one from Alloy ($34.90-$36.90). To finish it off in true Richie style, add a suede fringe bag from Delia's ($49.50) mixes decades to create a decidedly modern outfit. Wooden Clogs You get the idea: who could have ever predicted that wooden clogs would make a comeback?  We truly hate to say this, but Alexa Chung looks pretty darn cool in head to clog Chanel, making us sufficiently jealous of her look. We think that Joie's black snakeskin clogs ($335)  may be even better than Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel clogs. Alexa Chung’s Namesake Mulberry Bag Is Selling Out Before It Hits Shelves

While the Hermes Birkin bag wait list turned out to be a  hoax, revealing it's more available than we previously thought, the same is not true for Alexa Chung's namesake handbag, the Mulberry Alexa (pictured above.) Upon its release in January, it has been consistently sold out, not even making it to the stores. As of now, the wait list is several months long. Shoppers can't get enough of the buttery leather satchel-briefcase, and it's easy to see why. It's huge, with a cool crossbody strap and classic looking hardware. It's the bag you'll get compliments on for another 60 years.  From tan to pink pink leopard and royal blue, it comes in lots of shades. The cost? $1,150 for the smaller version and $1,250 for the larger bag. While the Alexa Mulberry bag is sold out everywhere online, if you're smart, you'll try Ebay, as there are about 10 for sale now---or check out the more affordable Mulberry Alexa clutch, below: The Mulberry Alexa Clutch, $895 for black, leopard for $685 (with only three left) is still expensive, but it has the makings of an Hermes Birkin bag, on a contemporary scale. Chung is our present day Jane Birkin--and we don't see the Alexa Mulberry range going out of style (or losing popularity) any time soon. Would You Wear Denim On Denim? These Celebrities Might Make You Consider It.

Wearing denim on denim has been a big trend for a couple of seasons now. What used to be a major fashion don't is sweeping the runways, and even celebrities are getting in on the debatable trend. Both Alexa Chung and Reese Witherspoon wore an oversized denim shirt--check out a great chambray shirt you can wear now and later--with a darker shade of jeans. Jessica Alba also wore mismatched shades of denim, and broke up the outfit with a blue t-shirt and a bright scarf. I think the trend is do-able, but if you don't want to take the plunge, check out four denim pieces you don't have to wear together: An oversized chambray shirt like this Old Navy Women's Boyfriend Shirt ($26.50) looks modern with khaki shorts, or even a floral skirt. If you're over the basic beige trench coat, this Calvin Klein Denim Trench ($128) is a nice alternative. This Topshop Denim Handbag ($70) has a light wash that is perfect for running weekend errands during the warmer seasons. I would usually never consider buying a denim shoe, but these ZiGiny Women's Ginger Ballet Flat ($59.95) are cute and simple. Bestsellers: Alexa Chung Waves Her Magic Fashion Wand To Make Clogs And Cut Offs Cool On Ebay

According to Vogue UK, everything Alexa Chung wears has been turning into retail gold on Ebay, rising up to 200% percent directly after she's worn them. It's a domino effect: she showed her fall 2010 collection for Madewell last month, and sent photos of her daily outfits to Vogue UK leading up to it.  Ebay has seen her favorites rise to the top: denim shorts (she owns 10 pairs),clogs and the Mulberry Alexa bag. We couldn’t resist but to choose our favorite looks from Alexa’s repertoire – guess a little bit of her magic rubbed off on us, too. Alexa demonstrates how to wear denim shorts in winter and in spring--and apparently, readers agreed they needed a pair, too, as Ebay saw sales jump 277 per cent on the auction site after she wore them. You don’t need Chung’s svelte stems to rock her favorite Denim Shorts look – just go with a longer length. If you want to get in on the trend, try these denim cutoffs by J.Crew at left ($79.50). If you'd rather go a little longer and more relaxed, check out Rich & Skinny's Laid Back Shorts ($145) which offer a little room for a more relaxed feel so you don't look like you're trying too hard. When Chung posed on the March cover of Vogue UK in Chanel’s SS2010 clog, the Dutch classic came back with a vengeance, rising 200% in sales on Ebay. The good news is that if you want to give it a whirl, this one by Charli-C from Jeffrey Campbell ($124.95) is actually pretty cool. Alexa has reportedly contributed to a spike in Mulberry bags being bought by younger women. This one, which she carries everywhere, is named for her. Check out this Topshop large Merino holdall ($210) which has the same feel, but without the $1039 price tag. Feeling bold? Channel Chung completely by splurging on the flashier clutch version of her 'Alexa' Mulberry bag ($695), which features a pink shiny leopard print, a large gold closure and two buckle straps. Check out Ebay for more, or if you're not ready for denim shorts, check out our guide to skinny jeans, and get yourself a blazer, which goes well with everything on this page.

Sneak Peek: Dress In Contradictions Like Alexa Chung For Madewell

The fashion world has been obsessed with Alexa Chung for some time now--somehow she blends her classic tomboyish style with high fashion every day. Her collection for Madewell 1937 (J.Crew's little sister line), unveiled last night at New York's incredible Bowery Hotel, featured models posing on mini stages, wearing Alexa's signature style--nautical stripes, lots of tiny tailored shorts, and long flowy hair epitomized Alexa Chung. It's on: we're now lusting for everything in Madewell's upcoming collection, in stores this spring. We're really inspired to pair our chunky wool socks with thick strappy sandals--it looks super cool, like you're not trying too hard.
