One can never have enough nail polish, especially flattering-to-all nudes and pinks. And like always, OPI knows what we need for spring: A new line of pastels to shake off the winter blues (and blacks, and burgundys…)

Their latest offering, OPI for the New York City Ballet, is comprised of five subdued polishes (mostly pale pinks and lilacs) and one punchy silver glitter called Pirouette My Whistle.

If you’re in the market for a new basic polish for spring, you can get OPI for NYCB at salons in April. In the meantime, check out some of the polishes from the brand’s ongoing collabo with Sephora.

Floral-scented fingers are preferable to ones that smell like acetone, but isn’t that why we have perfume? The spate of scented polishes coming across our news feed has left us wondering — why do our nails have to smell like anything at all?

Nail polish brand Scotch is a company after my own heart. Their line of 30 “intoxicating” colors (emphasis theirs, but we don’t disagree) is eco-friendly and free of the chemicals that cause that signature I’m-getting-an-unwanted-high nail polish smell. And they even make polish remover ($11.99), which can be an even worse culprit than the polish itself.

Colors like Velvet Kilt, Highland Mist, and Macbeth’s Dream (yes, Scotch really is Scotch) will cost you $14.99 — a small price to pay for the brain cells you’ll save by not inhaling chemical craziness.

If you’re like us, you need hard alcohol and spirits to get through January in New York (or anywhere in the country that gets snow). Apparently, Veuve Clicquot (yep, the fancy French champagne) agrees, and just paired up with beauty brand Fresh on a limited edition ‘Clicquot in the Snow’ set, which they are calling a “winter survival kit.”

The kit includes Fresh’s greatest hits: Citron de Vigne fragrance rollerball, Seaberry Restorative Body Cream, and Sugar Lip Treatment. As Racked pointed out, the line is missing actual champagne-flavored product, but we get the idea.

The set will be available on Fresh.com on February 1, and retails for $60 – less than a bottle of fine bubbly – making it the perfect gift for the lush party girl in your life.

It’s our favorite time of year: Spring polish season. We’ve already feasted our eyes (and ears?) on Nicki Minaj‘s musically-themed collection for OPI, and now it’s time to jettison those deep-purple and slate-grey colors of winter, for essie‘s stock-market themed Spring collection — which just hit online.

You can now shop colors like “A Crewed Interest” and “To Buy Or Not To Buy.” (A rep for the brand has insisted that they are not Occupy Wall Street-affiliate.) Politics aside, that super-bright orange has our name on it.

It’s no surprise that Katy Perry will be releasing her own design of false eyelashes with Eylure next month—four pairs exclusively available at Ulta. The pop songstress already has her fair share of beauty collabs: she’s a spokesperson for Proactiv, has a nail polish collection out with OPI, and she just shot a campaign for the beauty tool company, ghd. If the anticipated lashes are supposed to be an extension (see what we did there?) of her own style—multicolored wigs, bright makeup, bras that shoot whip cream—we’re excited to see what she’s come up with.

The Nicki Minaj for OPI collection just hit Amazon.

Earlier this fall, while we were busy watching Sophia Grace’s appearance on Ellen on repeat, news of the Nicki Minaj for OPI collection also hit the web. Nicki isn’t only an incredibly gifted rapper (download Monster if you need proof) but she’s a makeup enthusiast (those bubble gum pink lips!), which makes her the perfect poster girl for polish.

Although the line is only officially sold through stores, Amazon got its hand on some bottles — namely this 4-pack set ($12.75), which includes colors named after her songs from her Pink Friday album, namely, “Did It On ‘Em,” “Fly,” “Pink Friday,” and “Metallic 4 Life.”

Fashion’s Latest “It’ Girl, 90 Year Old Iris Apfel Is Now Launching A Makeup Line With MAC

Fashion is fickle: while last year, Tavi Gevinson, the 13-year-old fashion blogger, who ironically, at one point, dyed her hair gray, is out, and the original street style star, Iris Apfel, is in. At the age of 90, the former textile maven turned socialite, who’s been photographed by famed New York Times style photographer Bill Cunningham for decades, and who has halways been known for her eccentricity in terms of dress. But now she’s bringing her esoteric taste to the masses.

The Daily Mail reports that Iris, known for her red lipstick and signature oversize glasses, is recreating her look for MAC Cosmetics, a favorite of the fashion set. As a self-described “rare bird,”–she even was the subject of a 2005 Met textile exhibition entitled, “Rare Bird” the line will feature nail color, lipstick, and eyeshadows in jewel-tones and brights–all named for–you guessed it: rare birds. From Pink Pigeon to Diamond Dove, the 20-piece line will range from $14 to $23 and will launch January 5.

Her motivation? ‘Most of the young people today look dreadful. And celebrities look even worse,’ she told The Telegraph.
