Episode 5 of The Fashion Show opened with some mini-challenge trickery where designers had to create a sketch from memory. After staring at one of Isaac's Fall 2009 pieces hanging on a dress form, Kelly walked in and out of the room before the challenge began. Only, the challenge was Kelly (so tricky, Bravo!). The group had to sketch what Kelly wore.
After complaining that she barely saw anything, Daniella won the challenge and the chance to choose one designer that would be in the bottom three. Merlin was shaking in his red mini boots.
The elimination challenge gave every designer a real woman (aka, not a size zero model) and the task of creating an outfit that would highlight her assets while improving on her perceived problem areas. This really hit home when we saw the designers padding their dress forms with hips, butts, bellies, and breasts.
James-Paul was beside himself at having to design for someone with body fat. His actual quote was, “It's like asking Jesus Christ to work with Satan.” A bit dramatic, but he wasn't alone in his dismay.
Daniella burst into tears at how stuck she was in her design. When she complained that she had never designed for big women (her real model was a size 14), Isaac called her sizeist. Ouch! Still, she managed to put out a flattering navy and black jacket/dress combo that got raves from the fashion show audience (buy it here, $325).
And the bottom three pick? Angel. Bad tailoring got her there, but Keith's boring prom dress design was much worse than a messy hem and caused him to be sent home.
Daniella's outfit worked because of the belt. (And, she's not alone. Five other designers used belts or waist contrast to create a silhouette.) This Ann Taylor Cotton Twill Tuck Dress ($60, was $130) uses tucks at the waist and a big elastic belt to draw attention to the smallest part of the waist.

What: IsABelt, $16.95
Why: I'm no fan of the so low you may as well not even be wearing pants scale of jeans fitting. But on the flip side, I don't want to be caught dead in the dreaded mom jeans. The fact that there's no happy medium means I usually spend tons of time wriggling to make sure the jeans I wear aren't showing off my underwear (or worse).
That's why I'm so thankful for IsABelt, a paper-thin, clear elastic belt that holds up gaping jeans without causing an unsightly buckle bulge in the front. Simply size the belt, hook it in front, and secure the hook under your pants button. It's amazing how something so delicate can hold everything together so seamlessly, and ensure that my Victoria's Secrets stay, well, secret.

We saw lots of metallic accessories at Fashion Week, which was probably a sign of things to come, since they’re popping up on spring-y extras for the season to come.
These Roberto Cavalli heels ($330, were $654) would add a little sex appeal to just about anything, and we like the sleek finish and darker color.
Wear a gold braided belt ($9.50, was $12.50) to cinch a chiffon dress to channel a bohemian look or wrap it around a fitted black number for a glamorous night option.
This snakeskin-embossed envelope clutch ($68) is big enough to comfortably fit the essentials.
An easy-to-wear version of the gladiator trend, Bernardo’s Mars flats ($115) are a good choice with easy weekend dresses or beach-y maxis.
The clean shape of this Rebecca Minkoff satchel ($550) does well carrying off allover gold.

The latest Michelle Obama fashion decision involved a python buckled belt wrapped around a chocolate brown cardigan. First Lady in python? We at SheFinds have to say, while several of you may disagree with the sartorial choices of our new First Lady, we applaud the fact that this woman can confidently meet and greet a group from the Department of Education wearing snakeskin. Out with the old and in with the fierce and fabulous new. Although we haven't yet pinpointed the designer (we're guessing Dolce & Gabbana or maybe even Banana Republic!), we will keep you posted. And in the meantime, check out the below options if you'd like to don some snakeskin of your own.
Peruse both our Michelle Obama Style Guide for ways to dress like the fashion icon and our Belts Guide for waist-cinchers you must own.
Rarely do the proverbial chick flicks have us all aflutter over here at SheFinds but two little things have us salivating over Confessions of a Shopaholic: shopping (of course) and Patricia Field. Oh yes, the fashion magician who brought us Sex and the City and The Devil Wears Prada has been asked to wave her wand again on this little piece of cinematic magic and we cannot wait! Based on Sophie Kinsella’s best-selling books, the movie tells the story of a girl who gets into a little too much trouble with her shopping addiction. Isla Fisher plays the title character, Rebecca Bloomwood, and the trailer looks hilarious.
But what are we obsessed with? The clothes, of course. Rebecca gets the Fairy Godmother touch from Pat Field, wearing a mix of vintage and current labels in impossibly bright, cheery colors. Want to steal a little movie magic for your own wardrobe? Read on and get ahead of the game.
Bring the pink into your own closet with this Gap Rosette V-Neck Tee ($29) and this Tulip Pencil Skirt ($59). Accent the ensemble with this fabulous Julie K Clair Belt ($121).
Feeling extra sassy? Then by all means, add the shoes, a faux fur jacket, and yellow beret. This Kimchi Blue Faux Fur Jacket ($148) and Wave Shell Knit Beret ($24) may become new favorites in your own wardrobe. And we're big fans of these dazzling Mariah Metallic Snake Skin Peep Toe Pumps ($169).
Check back with SheFinds after the movie debuts February 13th for more Shopaholic fashion updates.

As a curvy girl and a formerly very large woman, I have literally been hiding in oversized clothes for years. Here’s a tip from me to you and it doesn’t matter if you have lost weight, will never lose weight, or are just a fabulous girl with dangerous curves: big baggy clothes make you look bigger than you are. A defined waist and clothes that fit your body no matter what your size will always make you look thinner and much more put-together. Oversized = sloppy. Period.
My resolution is to throw away all the baggy items and to start wearing clothes that fit. Note that I said “fit,” which is not the same as “tight.” One of the best items in any woman’s wardrobe is a fitted black blazer, which I can throw over pretty much anything. This Free People Black Cotton 3-Button Blazer ($77) is an inexpensive option and look sharp with almost anything.
I am a t-shirt fanatic and I need shirts that fit. I have always been and will always be a fan of The Gap Favorite V-Neck T (on sale for $4). Chesty girls should wear v-neck tops because they're slimming and draw attention away from your waist.
Belts have now become my friend. Buy a belt that fits and it will make you look like a total rock star. This Tory Burch Wooden Square Belt ($105, was $175), can be worn with jeans, over sweaters and dresses, and the cutest look ever: over the black blazer.
Last but not least, I am a denim addict but I cannot rock the boyfriend jean. I’m too voluptuous for that and I look like I rolled out of bed and am heading to Freshman English. My personal favorites for fit right now are my PRVCY Barbados Straight Leg Jeans ($208.) They fit like a dream and give me the illusion of the skinny jean but are way more comfortable.
These budget-friendly belts are a great way to update outfits you’re getting bored of without breaking the bank. (Wear a pair of patterned tights too and it’s a whole new outfit.)
A geometric wooden buckle and vintage-style distressing set this leather belt ($15, was $28) apart from other skinny styles.
This seamed wide belt ($17, was $24) in a dusty rose is surprisingly versatile – use it to cinch almost any tunic dress.
A classic skinny belt ($15, was $20) in olive green would be a perfect compliment to a cream-colored sweater dress.

So, we told you about Gwyneth entering the blogging/website world with GOOP, which gives Gwyneth’s view on how to ‘Paltrow-fy’ your life and be Gwytheth-level fabulous. This week’s newsletter centers on the ubiquitous LBD (Little Black Dress) and how to accessorize this closet workhorse to take you through a very busy day/week. These looks from her newsletter are cute but we think they should come with a warning label or two:
Warning #1 – Hot pink hosiery with your LBD will not work on you unless you are very tall and very thin (and even then, we're not so sure). Add ankle boots to the mix and it will amplify any imperfection in your legs and make you look stumpy. Patterned tights will add necessary impact and keep the eye moving, like these cute Hue Argyle Sweater Tights ($18).
Warning #2 – You are taking style advice from someone who grew up as Hollywood royalty, has always been wealthy, and apparently has no concept that the rest of us do not consider Roger Vivier and Gucci as “running errands” labels. The Gucci Babouska boots shown she suggests will set you back about $995! Why not take the studded inspiration in a style that elongates the front of the leg, like these Steve Madden Elivate Booties for $169?
We DID love the cardigan and belt look she showed with the little black dress. For a recessionista-friendly take on this look, try pairing your LBD with a Forever 21 V Neck LS Cardigan ($19.80) with this slightly edgy Gap Leather Belt in Black ($39.50).
Now you have enough money to try one of the restaurants she mentions in her beloved Zagat guide. After all, great style will take you to the hottest restaurant in town, but if you can't afford to try the food, what's the point?
