Get Through Leggings Season Panty Line-Free (No Thong Required)

In a season where leggings and skinny jeans are absolute staples, it’s a good idea to invest in some full-coverage underwear that won’t make its presence known to the entire world.

NoLines-Jockey

Best Everyday: Jockey No Panty Line Promise briefs ($7-$10)
It’s right in the name: these high-cut, featherlight and silky smooth panties guarantee a line-free behind. The cut is feminine instead of frumpy, and there are enough colors and patterns to build a whole underwear wardrobe.

NoLines-Spanx
Hardest Workers:
Spanx Undie-Tectable Panties ($30)
Shapewear has a tendency to feel bulky, and even though you feel slim, all that constriction can make you imagine your undergarments are super obvious. Not so with Spanx’s contribution to the line-free panty program. These shapers tame the muffin top region and lift the butt—they’re perfect for achieving added sleekness under tight trousers.

NoLines-Hollywood
If You Just Can’t Wear a Thong:
Hollywood Fashion Tape Goes Commandos ($12.50)
If you still don’t trust briefs, can’t stand thongs, and death is not an option, fear not. These disposable liners let you go briefless without having to worry about potentially icky aftermath. There can’t be panty lines where there are no panties, so these are a best bet for seam-o-phobes.

For more on what to wear under your party dresses this season, see our guides to shapewear, Spanx and how to dress thinner.

Lacroix Designs Uniforms, LiLo Sells Her (Fake) Wardrobe, More

Christian Lacroix designs for railroad workersEven though Christian Lacroix’s fashion house will be transformed to a licensing operation, Lacroix’s  former projects live on. Next month, his uniforms, designed for French railroad workers at SNCF, (at left) will debut…and we’re kind of jealous. Looking for your own personal uniform? Our guide to skinny jeans and cardigans has you covered. [WWD]

Lindsey Lohan is auctioning off her “second-hand clothes” (starting at $25) on her mother’s creepy website, lohanhouse.com. Included are hot pink Marc Jacobs ankle boots, clutches, jackets and dresses. The strange thing is all of the shoes are different sizes, (ranging from 6-8.5) leading us to believe she’s selling designer stuff she got handed for free. We’d rather get our own party shoes or over-the-knee boots, thanks very much. [Page Six]

On the heels of Burberry’s artofthetrench.com social media site, and the Twitter craze, designers admit keeping up with social media and the constant stream of technology can be overwhelming. Domenica Dolce, however, says Dolce & Gabbana is considering of creating their own social media site. Chanel will launch a news site in March. ‘Til then, check out our guide to festive attire for season’s holiday parties. [WWD]

The British Fashion council announced the 19 fashion companies that will receive sponsorship from BFC Newgen, allowing them to show their designs at London Fashion Week–Peter Pilotto and Maria Francesca Pepe are among the few. The Best Fashion At The British Fashion Awards

Some of the fashion world’s finest came out last night to honor designers, models and more at the British Fashion Awards in London. The carpet was graced with a lot of gorgeous black gowns, but there were also a few refreshing spots of color. Check out our five favorites of the night, plus similar looks for (a lot) less.

kate moss british fashion awardsgap perfect blazer

1. Kate Moss’s Dior dress was definitely dramatic, but we love that she added a tailored blazer over an evening gown. Every woman should have blazer like this one from The Gap in her closet.

claudia schiffer british fashion awardsali ro flower print dress

2. Claudia Schiffer bucked the black dress trend in this printed red number by designer Peter Pilotto. This Ali Ro dress that has a similar print, but the A-line silhouette is more forgiving for those of us who aren’t supermodels.

victoria beckham british fashion awardsalice olivia chain and stone tunic

3. Victoria Beckham wore one of her own designs and what really made it special was the beautiful embellishment on the shoulders. The chains and stones on this Alice + Olivia tunic convey the same feel, but you’ll be able to wear it a lot more often.

jaquetta wheeler british fashion awardsella moss tiered lila dress

4. Model Jacquetta Wheeler also offered a much needed dose of color in a tiered, floral-print dress. If you’re brave enough to try the flower trend and a tiered dress in one look, go for it. If not, try this simple tiered Ella Moss dress instead.

olga kurylenko british fashion awardsbcbg sequin jacket

5. Take an ordinary black dress from basic to brilliant by throwing a one-of-a-kind jacket over it like Olga Kurylenko did for the night. This sequin wrap by BCBGMAXAZRIA is a glitzy alternative to fur.

When the Weather Outside is Frightful, Pull on a Pair of New UGGs

Remember the days of dreading going outside in the dead of winter because you had no cute shoes that would keep your feet warm.? That was, of course, before UGG Boots became a phenomenon.  For those skeptics out there, though,  UGG has gotten a makeover. Check out a few of the new (grown-up) additions to UGG Australia we’re loving (all with the genius signature lining) :

ugg highkoo

UGG has a bunch of sleeker tall boots—like the Highkoo style, shown here—that are cute enough to wear for night out with a nice top and skinny jeans.

ugg rime

In search of the perfect winter flat? The Rime flats are super stylish on the outside, but have a sherpa-lined footbed for added warmth inside.

ugg dakota

And because you should still have warm feel while hanging out at home, check out the Dakota slippers. We like the mocassin style.

Check out our complete guide to UGG boots, plus coats, gloves and hats to help get you through this winter.

Michelle Obama’s Fascination with Floral Prints

Last night, Barbara Walters named First Lady Michelle Obama her most fascinating person of the year. While we loved hearing her talk about important issues (as well as her favorite cooking shows), we were fascinated by her floral-print Rachel Roy dress–namely, how she manages to wear florals so often in different ways.

Michelle Obama Most Fascinating People with Barbara Walters

Since becoming First Lady, she’s worn floral cardigans, jackets, dresses and skirts, proving just how versatile the print can be. Follow in our First Lady’s footsteps and incorporate a pretty floral print, like the ones below, into your wardrobe.

blooms print shell

1. This muted top works just as well with a pencil skirt and pumps as it does with jeans and ballet flats.

floral lorelei dress

2. The muted neutral tones in this floral dress make it a multitasking piece. Wear it all year long.

flora print tulip skirt

3. This floral print tulip skirt will be the star of any outfit. Pair it with black or white to temper the standout print.

Be sure to read our complete Michelle Obama style guide, plus check out more dresses, cardigans and skirts we love.
