Answer: Dressing for a wedding — at any age — can be tough. You can't upstage the bride or her mother. You can't look funeral-bound in black. You have to dress your age and feel comfortable sitting, standing and busting a move on the dance floor. Plus, after spending an arm and a leg on an engagement gift, a shower gift, a wedding gift and travel, you've got to factor bargain hunting into the perfect wedding attire equation. No easy feat.

That said, the cardinal rule is to dress in something that makes you feel amazing — comfort and the feeling that you invested wisely will stem from that. Avoid at all costs the tendency to cover up in the baggiest clothes; opt instead for something that will give you shape.

Slimming, finely tailored jackets paired with simple shift dresses give the illusion of curves in all the right places, while detracting from less-than-rock-hard abs. On top, choose a something cropped and in a springy color, like Jon's Sheen cropped jacket ($319) in lemony yellow. With Banana Republic's navy and white silk scroll-print dress ($148), you get a prim, put-together look that would be perfectly offset with shiny silver jewelry.

Pick pieces that are versatile; you get more for your money if you can dress an outfit up or down, and if you can mix and match (after all, there's no rule that says you have to buy one wedding season outfit and stick with it). A patterned jacket, like Sutton Studio's chic black and white one ($169) would look flawless over a white shift (try New York & Co.'s City Style pique version at only $45) and would ensure you'd stand out from the crowd without looking overdone or stealing the bride's thunder. For a less formal wedding, show you're not afraid of a little color by partnering the same black and white jacket with a bold color, like Ralph Lauren's jewel-necked dress in ocean-y blue green ($698).

Finally, go for something that makes you feel feminine and youthful without looking too over-the-top. Ann Taylor's lovely cream and pink floral swirl dress ($148) and flap pocket jacket ($198) make a pretty pair for spring, and can be worn together or separately on many occasions. No one will mistake you for a 60-year-old in something so fresh and flirty.

I just bought a pair of cute suede boots–so cute, in fact, that I never even stopped to consider that snowy streets would probably ruin the suede. How can I winterize my boots?

We totally feel you on this one. For even in all our wisdom, SheFinds sometimes falls for the "too cute for practical concerns" purchase. Case in point: last month I ordered the Minnetonka Moccasins boots ($80) only to realize they wouldn't make it through a nasty New York winter without disintegrating in the salt and slush. Fortunately, there are ways to minimize–though not entirely eliminate–the possibility of damage from brutal weather.

First order of business is waterproofing the boot. Try ReviveX Nubuck Suede and Fabric spray ($7). Since it's made especially for porous fabrics like leather and Gore-Tex, it won't darken or stain the fabric. Spray from about 12 inches away, wait for the boot to dry (about five or six hours), then spray again. That's a double coat, ladies–don't scrimp on this detail. To make sure your tootsies stay not only dry but warm, get some fleece insoles ($9), which will immediately make your boots feel more cozy.

The world practically came to a screeching halt over a recent photo of Sarah Jessica Parker at the All-Star Game in New York City seemingly without her trademark mole on her chin. Oh, the scandal!  The controversy caused such a mad outcry of writers recalling articles where the star said she wasn’t a fan of plastic surgery that her people issued a simple statement: “Nothing has been removed.”

We got a great question from one of our readers regarding the fashion seen in the Sex and the City movie: Who makes that gorgeous oversized hat that Samantha wears while eating guacamole on her deck and spying on her gorgeous neighbor?

Unfortunately, our resources have let us know that the hat was actually a vintage find that was literally destroyed and repaired to gorgeous condition by the movie’s stylist Patricia Field and her talented wardrobe department. 

Luckily, if you want to use a similar hat for a little SPF (Spying Protection Factor) of your own this summer, we suggest the gorgeous floppy hat ($148) from the fabulous Scoop Beach.

This is a great question that segues so perfectly with our Self-Tanner Guide. Test-driving all these bronzing lotions and build-a-tans has left me all kinds of brown and all kinds of stinky, and all my self-tanning friends have the same complaint—what's up with the stench?

Self tanners themselves aren't to blame—it's the science behind them that makes you smell like a sweaty, overripe fruit (yuck, just thinking about that distinctive odor gives me the willies!) Most self tanners contain an ingredient called dihydroxyacetone, or DHA. It's the DHA reacting with your skin's proteins that produces that natural-looking glow… and that heinous smell. I have found that the absolute worst offenders are the formulas, specifically lotions, that try to mask the odor under tropical, beachy top notes of coconut or banana. I don't want to smell like a spoiled pina colada, thank you very much.

One of the best I've tried so far (and I've tried a bunch) is Clinique's Self-Sun Touch of Bronze moisturizing body lotion ($18.50). It comes out of the tube virtually scent-free (it smells a lot like their famous yellow moisturizer) and—surprise!—stays scent-free even after the DHA starts working its bronzing magic on my epidermis. This is probably because it's a moisturizer first (and does a great job, at that) and a tanner second. It took a few applications before I saw a really noticeable difference, but since it didn't reek to high heaven, I didn't mind applying it every night before bed.
