Amelia: Hilary Swank plays the aviatrix with a wanderlust and joie de vivre.  Her impeccable style was sensible and comfortable, yet refined. And Earheart’s signature pilot scarves were practically ubiquitous, serving as a counterpoint to her otherwise masculine sensibilities. This Aquascutum chiffon checked scarf fits the bill, and complements both a sweater or a cropped leather jacket.

As she set new flying records, raised the bar for other female pilots, and captivated American society, she never forgot her Kansas roots. Amelia lived in a world of men, and mostly dressed the part. Trousers, collared shirts, and of course, the bomber jacket–every pilot’s essential. The Doma Leather Bomber Jacket is a contemporary version of the original.

Earhart met with accolades wherever she went. She also had to make nearly constant public appearances to finance flights.  It’s hard to find a lot of 1930s-style hats that aren’t vintage, but this Feather Detail Cloche is a good choice. Our YouTube pick of the day is most definitely Amy Phillips in this rip roaring rendition of Rachel Zoe in unfamiliar territory – the grocery store. In an on-point impression, Phillips gets the lovably idiotic Zoe voice just right as she deems everything “bah-nanas” and attempts to weigh herself on a scale in the fruit aisle.

While the spoof Zoe bumbles her way through grocery shopping ventures, the real Rachel Zoe has been a busy lady lately. She’s been working on her very own line for QVC and on last week’s Zoe Report, she (entertainingly) took on the nearly impossible task of creating a “cheap” ensemble.

Get revved for hat season and cop Phillips’ faux-Zoe style with a floppy beret. We like this embellished gem beret and this lighter, knit hat with a girly bow.

Rarely do the proverbial chick flicks have us all aflutter over here at SheFinds but two little things have us salivating over Confessions of a Shopaholic: shopping (of course) and Patricia Field. Oh yes, the fashion magician who brought us Sex and the City and The Devil Wears Prada has been asked to wave her wand again on this little piece of cinematic magic and we cannot wait! Based on Sophie Kinsella’s best-selling books, the movie tells the story of a girl who gets into a little too much trouble with her shopping addiction. Isla Fisher plays the title character, Rebecca Bloomwood, and the trailer looks hilarious.

But what are we obsessed with? The clothes, of course. Rebecca gets the Fairy Godmother touch from Pat Field, wearing a mix of vintage and current labels in impossibly bright, cheery colors. Want to steal a little movie magic for your own wardrobe? Read on and get ahead of the game.

Yesterday’s inauguration was awe-inspiring and the fashion had us all abuzz here at SheFinds. One of the hot topics was the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, and that fabulous hat she wore when singing during the Inauguration ceremony.
