Top 10 Of 2010: The Worst Dressed Celebs (GaGa, Lohan, More)
As much as we love to look back on the year's best dressed celebs, we figured we'd round-up the worst dressed ones too: Jessica Simpson: Repeat Offender Come on, Jess, printed tents and picnic blankets do not make maxi dresses. Too bad you didn't learn that the first time. Lady Gaga: Most Likely To Get Stopped In Security Whether its 7 inch platforms or a white lace bra, neither of which are quite airplane appropriate. Britney Spears: Lifetime Achievement Award Yikes - we think a Dr. Phil "What Were You Thinking?" intervention is the only cure for Britney's poor fashion choices. Madonna: Head-To-Toe Hot Mess The queen of pop really has no other excuse as to why she combined swishy pants, argyle socks, and a fedora. And if she does, she should lie. Dancing With The Stars: Worst Of Prime Time Although we love see Kate Gosselin make a fool or herself, these 16 worse DWTS outfits were hard to watch. Christina Aguilera: Worst Coffee Run It looks like Christina is hiding more than just a genie in a bottle under her extremely baggy sweats. Lindsay Lohan: Most In Need Of Fashion Rehab Lilo's beyond ugly outfits might have something to do with why she's isn't Hollwood's next It Girl. Miley Cyrus: You Can Take The Girl Out Of The Country... Miley, we get it - you have nice legs. Stop dressing like a hooker to show them off. Gossip Girls: When Good Girls Do Bad Things Blake and Leighton are going to start their own gossip in these dresses, which should have been left in the bedroom. Katherine Heigl: Worst Cupcake-Like Confection The brown hair aside, we'd rather see Heigl's ruffled cupcake dress at a birthday party than on the red carpet. Katherine Heigl: Lose The Two-Tone Hair, Keep The Cool Fall Outfit
Since she left Grey's Anatomy last year (Izzie, we miss you!), Katherine Heigl has been in a slew of rom-coms and making her way through the rounds of talk shows and photo shoots. Just the other day, Ms. Heigl was spotted arriving at The Late Show with David Letterman looking oh-so-seasonably appropriate in her cable knit cardigan, silk cowl-neck blouse, skinny jeans, snakeskin tote, and very on-trend suede fold over boots. She really works the combination of chic and comfy and so can you: Cable knit sweaters, like this Hayden Mid Grey Heather Cable Knit Cardigan ($225), are not only really comfortable but they're super for those chilly fall days. This Walter Silk Cowl Neck Blouse ($101) is an awesome layering piece, especially under a chunky knit. On Heigl, it's sexy, pretty, and not clingy (so you can feel free to eat that extra piece of pumpkin pie). Classic skinny jeans, like these Joe's Jeans 'Provocateur' Skinny Jeans in Drew Wash ($158), are a wardrobe staple. These are great because they look fantastic with flats or tucked into boots, like Heigl's pair. Heigl chose a great neutral colored boot, like these Steve Madden Carlsen Grey Suede Bootie ($90.95), which is so hot for the fall season. The tiny heel gives the boot a little lift but doesn't sacrifice comfort (yay!). A busy woman like Katherine Heigl knows that you need a great bag to throw everything you own in, like Beirn's Jenna Snakeskin Tote ($325). It's edgy and fun but keeps everything you need on hand. Katherine Heigl Looked Like A Ruffled Cupcake On the Red Carpet
Though earlier this week, we praised Katherine Heigl's style in the movie, Killers, she ruined it with this frilly, cupcake confection to The Killers premiere; from the dyed-black ringlets, to the teeny-bopper belt, the only thing she "killed" was her chances of getting on the Best Dressed List. I would say that she looks like she's going to Junior Prom, but honestly a high schooler could have put a better outfit together. What she did wrong: Katherine should have avoided overkill by wearing either a frilly top OR bottom. Not both. Another ruffle rule is to wear it in sophisticated, bold colors like black or electric blue. Baby pink + ruffles = not age inappropriate. The dress had enough going on - Katherine just made matters worse by adding this embellished hot pink belt. What she should have done: To get her ruffle fix, Katherine should have gone with a more sophisticated, all-black ensemble, like this sexy Bailey 44 Ruffled Knit dress ($94.90, down from $159). On the red carpet, it's better to make a statement with one's necklace - not belt. Heigl should have worn a bold, lucite style like this gorgeous Aqua Lucite and Gold Chain Necklace ($38). Katherine could have satisfied her urge to wear pink in smaller doses by wearing a pair of more subtle, blush pink Chloe sandals ($238, down from $595)). Check out the must-have blazers right now, and then see your guide to celebrity denim, celebrity style sunglasses, plus more celebrity style posts.
Get Katherine Heigl’s Cute Outfits In “Killers” (Even If The Movie Ends Up Sucking)
Summer movies are great for spotting new trends for the season. Even if the movie sucks, Katherine Heigl looks killer in her new movie, er, Killers. Whether she's dining on cucumber sandwiches or fighting bad guys, Heigl is perfectly polished from head to toe. Heigl shows us that she's a little more Bonnie and Clyde than we thought. With her lightweight trench coat and paisley scarf, she brings us back to the 1930s in style. Even if you're not a spy, try Free People's Nobile trench ($148) to capture the same look. And don't forget to tie Made of Me's Paisley scarf ($38) around your neck. Although Heigl enjoys her fun and casual clothes, she still remains flawless when she dresses up. To show her more sophisticated side, she chooses a black pencil skirt with a tasteful slit and a comfortable tank. Jones New York Collection's Pencil Skirt ($89) is a perfect staple for any wardrobe. With a back slit and slimming darts, we wish they came in every color. Top it off with Banana Republic's Heritage Laser Cut tank ($45)-the flower cutout design on the back is fitting for summer, a fun spin on a basic tank. While having lunch with Spencer, played by Ashton Kutcher, Heigl wears a simple white halter dress with a beige pleated clutch in her hand. We like Maggy London's Pintuck Cotton Halter dress ($158) even if we don't have a lunch date and Laura Merkin's Diana Studded Cross Body clutch ($225). It is the perfect accessory in the season's hottest color Once you've buttoned-up your trench coat, it's time to accessorize with more than just a scarf. Heigl keeps her 1930's-esque look with cat-eye sunglasses and classic red nail polish. Tory Burch's Cat's Eye Sunglasses ($149) complement any face shape with their glamorous frames and miniature gold logo. Give nails an extra coat of Jag-U-Are by Essie ($8) to really turn heads.
