Grow Up And Stash Your Panties In Something Other Than A Ziploc Bag

Why: I recently took a bachelorette weekend trip to Vegas and was kind of mortified to reveal my Ziploc Bag method of underwear packing to the rest of my hotel roommates… until I realized everyone else was in the same boat. Pants Too Tight Post-Holiday? Would A Waistband Stretcher Help?

Indulge in too many holiday treats? Is that eggnog camping out on your backside like it’s preparing to hike the K2? Don’t worry, we feel your pain. On a flight back from the holidays, we were presented with a suggested solution. From the pages of SkyMall, we bring you the Waistband Stretcher ($30).

The purpose of this device is to do just what it says it’s supposed to do: stretch the waistband of your clothes. You’re supposed to wet the waistband of your favorite cotton pants, throw this contraption in, and watch it add 1-5” to the garment by stretching it out. Initially, this sounds like a great idea but it doesn’t say if the waistband will regain its original dimensions. Ladies, do not torture and kill a perfectly good pair of jeans just because you couldn’t stay away from the cheesecake and martinis.

As we’ve said before, we (and most of Hollywood) are fans of Spanx Power Panties ($30). Spanx isn’t just for your favorite evening look, they’re a secret weapon for anytime you need to suck it in, tuck it back, and walk out of the house. Our advice is to purchase them in every color and use them liberally until you feel like your old self again.

We’re not against improvising during a wardrobe crisis but we are against ruining perfectly good clothes.

The Cheap Lingerie We Love…. And Actually Wear

Since you might not want to spend a bundle on something only one person sees (at a time), we asked our SheFinds staff to do some research in the cheap lingerie department. Good news – what they found makes us question our $18 Hanky Panky’s habits.

SheFindsKatieN found that Bali is the brand to stock up on for inexpensive boyshorts that don’t make us feel ancient and won’t give scream granny panties under clingy clothes.

He May Not Be Into You, But You’re Most Definitely Into The Clothes

We recently covered the fashion from He’s Just Not That Into You and this movie evidently hit a style nerve because we had tons of comments asking where to find particular items. From Scarlett Johansson’s adorable low-key clothes to Jennifer Connolly’s watch, here’s where to find some coveted items from the film:

One reader asked where to locate the cute clothes Scarlett was wearing in the pedicure scene. The t-shirt is a James Perse Casual T ($50) and the sweater is Lux by Urban Outfitters, which doesn’t appear to be available anymore, so we think this Kimchi Blue Open Cardigan ($44) should do the trick. The jeans are ScarJo’s own Levi’s 501 Boyfriend Jeans ($78).

In regards to Jennifer Connolly’s red wrap watch, it’s an Hermes Cape Cod PM Watch and it's $1,850. For a more cost-effective version, we suggest the Pedre Double Wrap Watch ($90).

Lastly, we love the debate over ScarJo’s red slip under her vintage dress in the office scene. We can’t be sure this is the right one, but this Free People Pleated Skirt Dropwaist Slip ($88) is a good enough facsimile to get you into your own compromising positions.

Lingerie That Directs Eyes Right Where You Want Them, And Not Where You Don’t

There’s zero reason to feel self-conscious in skimpy lingerie or worry that your well-endowed upper body isn’t well outfitted. Flattering lingerie options abound for every body type, and they’re easy to find if you know what to look for. Today on Parents.tv and SheZoom, we show you how to pinpoint the right pieces.

To play down your thighs, simply stick with longer gowns. Pick one with a lower neckline to draw attention upwards, like this satin gown from Jones New York ($26, was $38). If you want to show off your curves but keep them covered, Calvin Klein’s Lace Essentials Gown ($52) is the perfect option, with a body-conscious fit and below-the-knee length.

If you’re trying to hide a tummy, take one of two routes: disguise it in a short, drapey chemise ($110) – it plays up legs and glides past your middle. Or, smooth things over with a pretty piece of light-control shapewear; we like Flexees’ Smooth Back Cami ($38).

We’ve heard from plenty of big-busted women that they can’t find pretty bras in large sizes, but these lingerie brands Felina, Freya and Fantasie do make gorgeous bras in bigger sizes. Felina’s Harlow Full-Busted Demi Bra ($32) is affordable, supportive, and downright sexy. It comes in sizes up to 40DDD. Why: I have a secret. I love Old Navy lingerie. The declasse cousin of Gap and Banana has been at the top of my list for affordable basics like t-shirts for a while, but with their new line of bras, undies, and camis at wallet-friendly prices, it’s now become one of my favorite lingerie stores too. The patterned lace bra really turns up the heat. These aren’t boring, cheap intimates… they truly have the styling you’d expect to find at some of the bigger department stores.

Strapless Solutions

Whenever I wear a strapless bra, I'm always tugging at it, feeling like it's going to be around my waist any second. A friend swears by the Super Strapless Adhesive Bra ($65) and even wore it under her strapless wedding gown. She bought one for me, and although it bumps me up a cup size (which I definitely appreciate), it feels awkward. I can never seem to place it properly, and the extra weight of the silicone cups just made me feel like it was falling off all the time.

They lift, they offer nipple coverage, and the company has thoughtfully refrained from putting adhesive on the part that covers the areola (and it's reusable up to 25 times). While busty chicks might need extra support, A & B cups can be liberated from strapless-bra tyranny.

Solution: Prevent Caved-In Square Boob With The Bra Smart

Why: We all have one or two in our lingerie drawers: expensive, well-fitting bras that aren't earning their keep because they've been bent out of shape in the laundering process. I actually have (count 'em) four IPEX bras that I loved until I realized their caved-in cups were giving me square-shaped boobs. Not cool. That's why I wish I'd found the Bra Smart sooner.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show: Harnesses, Wings, And Lingerie Somewhere Underneath It All

So, we watched the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show broadcast last night and we have just one question: when did showing zero-fat supermodels walking the catwalk in their underwear, harnesses, and wings become quality programming? We know the show is primarily for the guys but we’re the ones who have to wear this stuff. Frankly, watching models that must wax from the neck down is not exactly a sexy-time inducing activity.  Our other gripe is that you couldn’t really see the cute lingerie underneath all the harnesses and belts. Who wears a belt with a bra and panties?
