Valentino, Saint Laurent & More Designers Prove That Neon Isn’t Going Anywhere
Once the weather gets warm and music festival season is in full swing, we ask ourselves the same question, "Will this be the year neon goes away for good?" Well, if you're anything like us and hoping for this blindingly bright trend to finally die, you're out of luck. It seems like there's all-fluorescent-everything this season, from clothes, bags and shoes, to jewelry and makeup. But what makes this trend different from years past is that high-end designers are getting in on the neon game, too. Valentino released a whole new collection of Rockstud shoes, bags and jewelry in neon yellow, pink, blue and green, while Saint Laurent clutches and bags got a color upgrade in bright pink, orange and yellow. That's not to say everything neon will cost you an arm and a leg. We found tons of items at great price points, from Urban Decay's best-selling Electric Pressed Pigment Palette ($49) to DV by Dolce Vita 'Alvyn' Sandals ($58.95). So whether you're a neon hater or not, you better get used to the trend because it's back for spring/summer 2014. Click the slideshow to shop it now. Forget The Small, Sweet Floral Prints–We Like Ours Bold And Super Saturated
So, something amazing happened over the long, cold winter. While in hibernation, two of our favorite trends--bold color and floral print-- met and had a fashion baby! Sweet small florals? Over and done. This spring it's all about floral prints that are bright, bold and super-saturated. The result is an eye-grabbing print that's more graphic than it is girly. These in-your-face flowers demand attention and stand out in a sea of solids. Ready to try the look on for yourself? Shop the bold floral print trend in our slideshow. Then be sure to check out more florals: from trousers (under $100!), to winter florals, to the perfect floral dress guide. [Photo: A House in the Hills]
What To Wear To Ultra This Weekend
EDM lovers rejoice: the 2013 Ultra Music Festival is almost here. The 15th anniversary of the festival hits Miami like a tropical storm this weekend (March 15-24), with epic DJs like David Guetta, Tiesto, Zedd and Swedish House Mafia (their last performance ever). The beachside festival is the perfect excuse to wear as much (or as little) as you want. From neon makeup to fur leggings, there's no such thing as too colorful or too crazy for Ultra. Throw on a pair of comfortable sneakers and neon shorts or go all out with feather eyelashes, animal ears and fur boots--no one will be judging you. We even found "party favors" like a metal bangle designed to look like a concert bracelet, to a pendant necklace with a not-so-secret compartment for, um, illegal substances. Add pool toys for the pool parties, PVC backpacks to stash all your stuff, mouse ears for the Deadmau5 fans, and enough neon to be seen from space. Click through the slideshow above for 52 styling ideas and products for the Best. Ultra. Ever. Also check out our list of what to pack for SXSW, Alexander McQueen high tops and denim vests. ‘Fluro Lace’: What It Is, And How To Wear It
We'll be honest--when we think of lace, we typically think of tea parties, baby showers, and other buttoned up events. This year's lace, however, is clearly sick of being seen as the safe option--in shades of neon yellow, hot pink, and fluorescent orange, it screams "good girl gone bad." We love the idea of a classic lace silhouette in a bold color--whether it's an A-line dress in a bright green, a sweet tank in an electric lightning shade, or a a pair of trousers in a daring fuchsia. When wearing this trend, we'd recommend pairing with shades of cream, tan, and off-white--black can make it look a little too Hot Topic. Go on--get your lace on! Other trends we're loving? Metallic smoking slippers, checkerboard print, and unexpected raffia.

Jessica Alba & Eva Longoria: Pink Denim Is As Good As White For Summer
Summer denim usually means white jeans - for the close minded. But colorful-jeans addict Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria have just proved, to the more adventurous denim soles, that hot pink jeans are also great in the summer heat. Their neon pink AG stilt jeans are the perfect way to rock skinny jeans in the summer without looking like you're in sweater weather territory. Jessica Alba, infamous for her stylish way about town, gets funky with a teal t shirt, light denim jacket and some sparkly TOMS. She is the perfect example of how to throw together so many colors and fabrics without losing fashion points. Don't let the neon pink color stop you from adding more colors! Yet, Eva Longoria does take a cleaner, classic approach with just a simple white blouse and Hermes tote (Brooklyn Blonde took a similar approach). Either way, these AGs should be on your must have list. Get them: AG Adriano Goldschmied The Stilt in Neon Pink ($159). Shop more celebrity style finds! But if you really are looking for a color boost, dive right into the reds, corals, and pinks of the nail polishes. Use the neon sandal as an accent piece to your summer eyelet whites or your LBDs. Even your go to denim shorts will feel funky and trendy when paired with these bright feet favorites. Take a tip from pinterest (slash Brooklyn Blonde) and learn to balance your neons and neutrals. Neons And Neutrals Are Going To Have A Pretty Steamy Summer Hook Up
With neon making quite the appearance this spring (if you don't own something neon, just click here, we will fix that asap) designers are finding fresh new ways to integrate the bright flashes of color. The prettiest combo I have seen thus far is the neutral + neon and these handbags are just chocked full of duo goodness. Although, you may prefer the bolder all out brightness of Cambridge satchels, these muted items are easily incorporated into any outfit. Grab a straw or raffia bag for beach trips or sling on a Theyskins' Theory crossbody bag or keep it light with a flat clutch. Your neon-works-with-everything wishes have come true. Stand Up & Stand Out! We’re Giving Away A Cambridge Satchel Company Neon Fluro Bag
We've been obsessing over The Cambridge Satchel Company's fluro bags for months now, and when we noticed they were the It-bags of New York Fashion Week this spring, we knew the trend had officially gone viral. And although we've been obsessed with the British-made neon satchels since we first laid eyes on them, we just found out another reason to love them: Julie Deane, the founder of Cambridge Satchel Company, actually started the brand so she could afford to send her daughter to private school after she had been a victim of bullying. Don’t Say We Didn’t Warn You: Cambridge Satchel Company’s Neon Satchel Is About To Be The Next Big Thing
You know when you learn a word you'd never heard before, and once you discern the meaning, you start to see it everywhere? Well that's precisely what happened to me with these neon satchels. It all started when I was walking through the fashion district last month and I saw a girl in perfectly tailored trousers, effortless oxfords, and a monogrammed neon yellow satchel. I became so obsessed that I even (full disclosure ahead) pulled a wannabe Scott Schuman and snapped a cell phone picture of her! Later that weekend, I spotted the same satchel on another New York fashionista, and then finally, while flipping through this month's Harper's Bazaar, it jumped out at me (it is neon, after all): the satchels are made by the Cambridge Satchel Company, and range from only $156 - $187 (!!!!!). Needless to say, I ordered one immediately as an early birthday present for myself. (more…)
Watch Out Tiësto: Neon Isn’t Just For Ravers Anymore
Looks like accessorizing with neon is a prerequisite for pop stardom. While this weekend's Ultra Music Festival may be responsible for an uptick in sales of day glo-colored accessories, it seems like many celebrities have jumped on the neon bandwagon as well. From Katy Perry's blue hair and yellow nails, to Leona Lewis's electric hi-waisted ensemble, to Willow Smith's glowing tresses, it's clear that the neon trend has moved far beyond pacifier-adorned rave culture. But don't bust out your glow sticks just yet--this bold trend is best word in small doses: think statement accessories or a single, bright separate paired with more muted layers. Luckily, we did all the work for you--check out our favorite neon pieces below. (more…)

4 Ways To Pull Off Neon, Without Resembling A Saved by The Bell Castmember
Trying to wear neon in 2010 can be tricky without looking like we're are stuck in the era of spandex and legwarmers and Zack and Kelly dramas. This week, a glorious thing happened - Sarah Jessica Parker wore this neon yellow Valentino couture gown to the SATC 2 premiere, showing the rest of us how to wear jazzy colors in this decade. Go with a simple, girly version in this Tissue Ruffle Tank in Neon Citron ($39.50). The neon is pale enough for the fashion-shy, but still hits the trend at a perfect price. Although its not cheap, this Twenty8Twelve Poly CDC Under-Over Dress ($350) is a lot of other things - fun, girly and youthful. We love love love the zip neckline and cut of this dress. We love the ruffled neckline and long length of this Splendid Ruffle Tank in Neon Yellow ($47). The color is SJP-approved, and the style is perfect for summer. If you want to try the trend in smaller doses, go for this CC SKYE Day Glo Neon Cuff ($84). Bangles/cuffs are huge this season - and we're guessing after SJP wore it, neon yellow will be high in demand, too. Check out the must-have blazers right now, and then see our guide tocelebrity denim, Celebrity Style Sunglasses, plus more celebrity styleposts.
How To Wear Neon Without Looking Like A Teenager From The ’80s
Neon gets a bad rap. When I think of the color, I immediately envision a horrible '80s outfit. But this spring, there are a lot of work appropriate neon options--check out spring's friendliest neon accessories--and we think it's time to embrace the color, in small doses of course. Get the look right by anchoring the bright color with neutrals like khaki or white. Try to stay away from pairing neon with black because it looks too harsh, and you can run the risk of looking like a club raver. Adding on other neon accessories like a bangle or a scarf is okay, but don't go overboard. I love the tiny ruffles on this J. Crew Cotton silk streamers cami ($110.00). The neon pink color is bright, but not overbearing like highlighter yellow or green. Wearing neon with white makes the color pop even more, and this denim Lauren by Ralph Lauren Gelsey Skirt ($69.50) will do exactly that. A structured blazer over the top is a good choice, and this Old Navy One Button Khaki Blazer ($39.50) will anchor the bright color, and it will add shape to the top. Wearing another neon piece like these Alexis Bittar Lucite Bangles ($55 each) is okay because they are not overwhelming. The color of your shoes should be neutral like these Franco Sarto "Hydra" Knotted High Heel Sandals ($89.00). The leather knot detail on the shoe makes them stand out. Get more fashion advice in our other how to wear posts, then check out the best spring fashion trends, or our favorite rain boots.
