Deal Of The Day: 50% Off Pucci Printed Scarves At Net-A-Porter

Thanks to Net-a-Porter’s end of season sale, you can grab one of Pucci’s iconic patterned scarves starting at a very reasonable $70.

This scarf’s ($70, was $140) subdued color palette is well-suited to a springtime work outfit.

We’d take Net-a-Porter’s suggestion and wear the Allessandro scarf ($87.50, was $175) tied kerchief-style at the beach or pool.

This floral print scarf ($135, was $270) would look equally lovely in lieu of or in addition to a few delicate silver chains.

Tie Dye Is Not Going Away, But At Least We’ve Moved Away From Dad’s T-Shirts

Since I wasn't ever a huge fan of tie dye when it made its third return in the 90s, I was really skeptical when I noticed it coming back on celebs like Victoria Beckham (in Balmain jeans) and Fergie (doing herself, and the trend, no favors in an unflattering pair).

However, I'm relieved to see that some designers are using tie dye in more toned down and interesting ways, instead of resorting to bleach and rubber bands in the backyard.

sass & bide Tie Dye Jeans

If you're game to try the denim, this pair of black sass & bide Tye Dye Jeans ($74, was $150)
is a more subtle choice, and still retains the slimming qualities of a skinny fit and basic black.

Aqua Bias Stripe Tie Dye Scarf

This Aqua Bias Stripe Tie Dye Scarf ($48) is colorful and lightweight..and looks enough not like tie dye that it could last you beyond the trend.

Foley + Corinna Mid City Tote, Dyed

The fold-over design and gorgeous grey leather of this Foley + Corinna Mid City Tote ($444) make the dyed design surpisingly versatile.

Jessica Alba Has Snatched Up The Entire West Coast Shipment Of Tolani Scarves

Apparently Jessica Alba collects more than just drooling male admirers. The red hot mama has what must amount to an entire walk-in closet full of Tolani scarves. She's been photographed in the colorful accessories just about everywhere but on the red carpet, and since we know it's not neck-chillingly cold in L.A., we have to assume these scarves are more style statement than staple.

imageimageimage
Tolani scarves marry cultural tradition with contemporary color schemes, and are affordable enough to start our own collections. Jessica's Zig Zag scarf, which she has in three colors, is only $85. So are the Honeycomb scarf she's sported around L.A., and the Waves scarf she wears when chilling with baby Honor.

But Jessica isn't the only fan of the brand. Lindsay Lohan, Rachel Bilson, Leighton Meester, Halle Berry, and Vanessa Minnillo have all been spotted out and about in Tolani, too.

Confessions Of A Shopaholic: Cute Movie, Cuter Clothes

We attended a sneak preview of Confessions of a Shopaholic yesterday and well, we’ve got to tell you, it’s adorable. Patricia Field doesn’t disappoint, bringing an incredibly bright and cheerful palette to the movie's wardrobe. We were salivating over the pictures before, but now we’ve had an eyeful of the wardrobe onscreen and we're planning to add punchy brights to our wardrobes come spring.

image

Rebecca wears this particular outfit to an interview in the movie. We cannot 1) safely say this is a good interview outfit and 2) advise unthawing a credit card to drop on the labels on the outfit (Vince cardigan, vintage cape and belt, Balenciaga skirt, Marc Jacobs bag).  However, adding color into a work wardrobe isn’t that hard. Here’s our take on how to get the look without having to outrun a debt collector.

This Vera Wang Cobalt Blue Satin Belted Dress ($215.20) is a great addition to your closet and can be layered with knits throughout the year. We recommend pairing the dress with a slightly less bright plaid coat, like this Hilary Radley Stripe Wool Blend Coat ($95.20) but then kicking it up with this orange Solid Oblong Scarf ($9.50).

these Kenneth Jay Lane Turquoise Cabochon Chandelier Earrings ($54) will brighten up any basic, while this fabulous Tory Burch Jill Bag ($450) is both functional and stylish.

Website Review: Bid for Luxury at Portero

You know when the time comes to buy a new pair of shoes, (and that time, of course, is always…) but the rent is coming up and you’re just not sure if your credit cards can withstand another $685 dollar charge courtesy of Manolo Blahnik?

So, you check out eBay because maybe you’ll come across some great find for a shockingly low bid. But unfortunately, as it often is on eBay, the hottest brands come at the highest risk and sometimes it's just too difficult to determine whether a certain designer bag or shoe is actually authentic. You know how it is: you type in “Louboutin” and multiple listings of the same exact shoe come up from a single seller, who just happens to have six different pairs in varying sizes all shipping from China. That might raise a little red flag.

Enter Portero, a luxury auction style e-shop that actually guarantees the authenticity of its fine goods. Shop through great brands like Bvlgari, Burberry, Tiffany & Co., Hermes, or by category like jewelry, handbags, shoes, art, housewares, etc. We’ll start you off with a few great auction finds to check out:

Taste Test: Which Zig-Zag Scarf Won’t Leave You Missing Your Money?

 image imageimage
I've trumpeted my Missoni-lust here before, and it's still going strong, my friends. My bank account, however? Not so strong. So even a sweet scarf patterned with those signature chevrons—definitely at the low end of the line's pricey pieces—is out of my penny-pinching price range. Luckily, there's a lookalike maize, cream and baby blue scarf out there that I don't have to feel guilty about including on my holiday wish list.

Think you can tell the real deal from the real steal? Bundle up with that bargain scarf, then head over to our Taste Test archives for some more challenges.
