Get Nicole Richie’s Mint Proenza Schouler Sweater & House Of Harlow Accessories
Nicole Richie just stepped out in New York to promote her new NBC reality series Fashion Star (meet the contestants!), and the influencer of the year wore a leopard mint Proenza Schouler sweater ($545) that we're loving. For her early-morning VH1 'Morning Buzz' appearance (whatever that is), Nicole also piled on the House of Harlow 1960 accessories: her 'Callan' pumps ($250, available in purple suede and black), 'Riley' bag in yellow/cream ($225) and 'Carmen sunglasses ($138).

Oh, p.s., did you hear that H&M is launching e-commerce just for Fashion Star?!
Your Next Fashion Dare: Wear One Of These Detachable Collars
The detachable collar has been a quirky accessory of choice for bloggers and stylists in the past but they're not just for the haute couture fashion peacocks anymore. A few designers have come out with some rather chic, easy access collars that instantly lift a plain shirt without adding too much bulk. Kind of like a necklace, only with a bit more personality. Think of it as a great conversation starter. When chosen—and worn!—correctly, detachable collars can really amp up the fashion power of a simple outfit. How To Wear Jumpsuits Without Developing A Case Of Saturday Night Fever
Let's be honest, Jumpsuits (or rompers) are tough to get into—both figuratively and metaphorically (ever try using the bathroom wearing one?). But in preparation for spring and summer, online shops stock up on these onesies like a paranoid New Yorker food shopping before Hurricane Irene. So since this garment is pretty much a warm weather staple for life, you might as well put one on too and enjoy it. And since it's our duty to scour the cyberspace mall for all things cute and chic, we've rounded up some of our top picks in a variety of styles. Printed, solid colors, one shoulder, sleeveless, super short or long—there's a choice for everyone.

10 Wedding Trends We’re SO Over In 2012
The wedding world of the last few years has been filled with WHIMSY! Mustaches on sticks! Broadway-style musical numbers! Food served out of a truck!
Once upon a time it all seemed so clever and charming, but frankly, now it just makes us wince. And while we're complaining - there are several other more long-term wedding trends (some might call them wedding staples) that we'd like see die a slow death. But we'll begin with a few more recent offenders...
Listen Up, Middle Children: Cobalt Blue Is The Easiest Way To Get Attention This Spring
Spring 2012 RTW: Tibi, Elie Saab, Karen Walker, Milly, and Burberry.
The runways for spring were sprinkled with pops of cobalt blue, which is a perfect alternative for those that aren’t keen on a typical pastel palette. This bold color adds a sophisticated punch when worn in the form of tailored blazers and blouses, but is electric and playful when worn as handbags or statement jewelry. Get a head start and add this color to your wardrobe before all the blue-fanatics snatch it up this spring.

Our Favorite Cameo This Season? The Vintage Necklaces At Lanvin’s Pre-Fall Show
Happy 10th anniversary, Lanvin! Alber Elbaz does it again by taking such an iconic fashion house to the next level and beyond. This year's pre-fall season, he experiments with fabric blends and strong silhouettes, while staying true to Lanvin's exquisite femininity (aka, ruffles in all the right places). But what we couldn't keep our eyes off of were the collection's bold and super sized cameo necklaces. This makes us want to get our hands on the vintage-inspired jewelry right this second, and instantly add a delicate touch to our wardrobes.

PHOTOS: Karlie Kloss As A New Yorker (Street Meat Included) In Free People’s Latest Lookbook
Karlie Kloss is everywhere: She walked 34 shows during the Spring/Summer 2012 collections, got her wings at the Victoria's Secret fashion show in November, and made a splash a few months ago with racy spreads in Allure and Vogue Italia. Now, the model gets her catalog on in Free People's January lookbook.
Kloss wears the brand's hippie-meets-urban collection on the streets of the Big Apple, rocking leather pants at a hot dog stand and walking a pack of Pomeranians in layers of cableknit, silk, and more leather (this is New York, after all).
January may be bleak, but at least you can shop the lookbook now:
Check out some of our favorite items from the collection in the slideshow below, and use Karlie's looks as inspiration to try some of spring's biggest trends: collar colorblocking, lace tops, and blush pink.
Lace Tops Aren’t Just For The Bedroom: Wear Yours To Work–And Beyond
When you think about lace, your brain is probably flooded with images of Madonna rolling around in 'Like A Virgin' videos or a McQueen-clad Kate Middleton in yards of it on her wedding day. But the Spring runways just gave the classic fabric another boost: check out the variety of ways Jason Wu, Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana proved that you can wear it. From cropped tops over lingerie for a nighttime look, to refined sleeved blouses that can be worn to work, we found 8 lace tops that are suited for pretty much any event in your date book.
Style your tops with high heels and skirts for the conservatives or pumps and skinny jeans for a night out or even low rider boots for an edgier, punk-chic look. Throw a bandeau bra under the lace for a serious fashion-forward moment. Feeling feminine and pretty has never been so stylish.

Call It The ‘Middleton Effect’: Lace Shoes & Accessories Are Everywhere!
Ever since a certain Duchess wore a lace-sleeved gown to her royal wedding, lace gowns have hit every runway, and now, accessories, too. The ladylike trend has surfaced in the form of sky high Valentino pumps, intricate wedding cakes and Alexander McQueen clutches. Just in time for wedding season!
Runway Report: Black Is The New Ivory For 2012 — According To Vera Wang
Vera Wang is generally ahead of any bridal trend by 2 or 3 seasons (ie. her blush and lavender gowns from 2008), so when she showed black and nude wedding dresses at her Fall 2012 runway show this weekend, she gave us a flash into the future of bridal -- or at least its dark side.
The 16-piece collection features no white or ivory styles, and in its place, black in every form -- from chantilly lace to organza, tulle and other traditional materials. Gothic brides rejoice: black is chic, elegant, and Vera Wang-approved for weddings.

On Friday, we previewed the latest Monique Lhuillier bridesmaid collection at the JS Collections headquarters in New York.
Please pardon the slightly blurry photos, but we wanted to bring you images, prices and style names from the collection long before it hits stores this spring, giving spring and summer brides a leg-up in choosing their bridal party dresses.

Looks like K.Stew needs to brush up on our cheat sheet...
With London Fashion Week in full swing since it began on Friday, we've already seen tons of celebrities show their pretty faces at big-name shows like Mulberry (where Kate Moss and Kristen Stewart, above, were seated front row) and Matthew Williamson. However, this year, we're more concerned about some of the more under-the-radar designers on the London Fashion Week circuit---so that's why we're counting down the 5 names you'll need to know before the week is over. Jeremy Scott Teaches Us to Fly Our Freak Flags High With 7 Crazy Trends
Dresses themed after post cards and bikini tees? I'm shocked this isn't his Resort line.
With a collection of gold winged adidas kicks and Swatch watches, it's no surprise that Jeremy Scott's RTW line is always high on kitsch. And his spring 2012 collection at NYFW this year came as no exception---models strutted down the runway in ass-less chaps, cow print, and pink pleather. But while his cowboy-slash-vacation-themed collection was rich in its bold statement pieces, there were plenty of little details that were even more zany. The jury's out as to whether anyone in their right mind would wear them, but either way, they're still pretty fun to gawk at. Check out our roundup of the seven bizarro details from Scott's show below:
NYFW Spring Trend Report: Get Minted
From left: looks From Vera Wang (1 & 3) and Jenny Packham (2 & 4)
We saw it with Orbit Gum's "sweet mint." We saw it as a popular Prius color. We saw it in Chanel's Jade nail polish. And now? Mint green has officially hit the catwalk with full force.
NYFW Spring 2012 Trend Alert: Bright Dresses Are Going To Be Everywhere
From left: Carolina Herrera, Donna Karan, and Jenny Packham
While we know the spring collections are always supremely colorful, this year's lineup seems to be especially bright. Bold, fluorescent, and eye-catching colors have been present in Spring/Summer 2012 shows from Marc by Marc Jacobs to Carolina Herrera (pictured)---both in accent touches, as well as entire ensembles.
Hate To Say I Told You So, But Cambridge Satchel Company’s Neon Bags Have Officially Tipped
From left: Brad Goreski at NYFW, and a photo I snapped of a Cambridge Satchel Company-adorned onlooker at Rachel Roy.
As Teen Vogue editor Eva Chen so aptly tweeted, "Things I've spotted a LOT of @ NYFW: @Equipment_FR shirts (good), neon Cambridge satchels (good), 100% sheer maxi skirts w leotards (bad)." And boy, was she correct---especially about the satchels.
Since I finally received my neon Cambridge Satchel Company bag last Friday (cue melodramatic saga after the jump), I've been wearing it to Fashion Week events and continuously getting snapped by street style photogs---but I am far from the only one getting the attention. Brad Goreski (pictured above) has officially made his neon Cambridge Satchel the "it" bag of NYFW, alongside plenty of other attendees, like the journalist I snapped a picture of at Rachel Roy, above.
If I Could DJ New York Fashion Week, These Are The Songs I’d Play
DJ Samantha Ronson, being a good sibling to sister Charlotte
Betsey Johnson (Monday at 6:00 p.m.) :"The Way It Is," The Strokes
Always showing a collection inspired by rock and roll, Betsey Johnson's Spring 2011 show would be perfectly complemented by this classic Strokes track.
Marc by Marc Jacobs (Monday at 8:00 p.m.): "Pharaohs," SBTRKT
This synthy beat is accompanied by smooth vocals that epitomize the fun-loving Marc by Marc girl.

Alberta Ferretti’s Hollywood-Themed Bridal Collection: Are You A Marilyn, Audrey Or Greta?
It's hard to believe that Italian designer Alberta Ferretti is only on her second forray into bridal; her recently unveiled Alberta Ferretti Forever collection is blowing us away. The movie-star inspired gowns, which each took 30-80 hours to be made, cover such a wide variety of looks - from ethereal hippie (Nicole and Mia) to old-Hollywood glam (Marilyn and Ava).
VIDEO: See How The Magic Gets Made At Oscar de la Renta
Last night, our pals over at Oscar de la Renta shared a behind-the-scenes video of Mr. de la Renta doing what he does best: making girls look pretty (for his Spring 2012 runway show, specifically):
We love taking a peek backstage at these shows; it doesn't take the magic out of the experience to see how the dresses are made or the girls being prepped for runway -- it actually makes the experience all the more theatrical. What do you think?

Reem Acra’s Nod To The Royal Wedding: Tiaras And Red Accents For Spring 2012
Yesterday, we showed you the Monique Lhuillier Spring 2012 collection, and the latest delivery from bridal week today is Reem Acra. Long an institution in bridal, Reem is a go-to for many brides, and this season, she incorporated red accents like floral blossoms and long satin gloves, paying a subtle homage to a certain royal wedding.
Monique Lhuillier Spring 2012 Slideshow: Get Your Monday Morning Procrastination On
Bridal week is one of my favorite times of year -- these are the moments when brides first fall in love with their dresses. I do believe in gown love at first site - I had it with the Vera Wang Diana in 2008, and know that many other brides do, too. And with so many celebrity brides (ahem, Reese Witherspoon) falling in love with Monique Lhuillier these days, her show is an especially important one to watch:
VIDEO: Oscar de la Renta Spring 2012 (Every Look Is Better Than The Last!)
This week we watched one of our absolute favor designers - Oscar de la Renta - send his Spring 2012 bridal looks down the runway. The show was absolutely stunning - but don't listen to us. Watch for yourself:
Newsflash: Chanel Launches Jade Nail Polish
Chanel launched jade nail polish, first seen on their Fall 2009 runway, last week at Fashion's Night Out (thanks to Stylelist for the tip). They offered mini-manicures with the color at one of their New York stores and the shade is now available at chanel.com. If you don't rush to it though, it made be hard to get your hands on a full-size bottle of the polish to take home and paint your nails yourselves.
This is where I have to tell you an embarrassing fashion obsession secret of mine - I saw that polish on the Chanel runway last year and I really, really wanted it. Of course, I had no idea how to go about getting a bottle, seeing as it didn't really exist, so I just made it myself. Quite successfully, I might add, and for less money (even with buying two bottles of polish) than the Chanel one will probably cost.
If you're in a DIY sort of mood, try mixing about one-sixth of OPI Green-wich Village into the bottle of Essie Baby's Breath. I promise it looks just like the Chanel.
Not up for making your own? Score a bottle on eBay.
