10 Street Style Looks From NYFW That Made No Sense At All In The Cold

New York City has been an ice tundra the past few weeks. So when Fashion Week rolled around, we were curious to see what the street style stars would be wearing in the single digit temps. Some decided to sacrifice their body warmth for the sake of fashion. They opted out of coats and full-length pants for sandals and culottes. Click to see the street style looks that made absolutely no sense at all in the NYC cold. We're shivering just from looking at these photos. For more fashion week, check out: the LFW livestream schedule, shop SJP x Tome and we asked, "What's the cheapest thing you're wearing?" [Photos: Splash News]

Winter Isn’t Going Anywhere, So You Should Probably Learn How To Rock A Hat

So the groundhog saw his shadow yesterday, which means we're in for 6 more weeks of winter. Blah! But in addition to all of the good winter sales you now have an excuse to shop, there's also the perk of being able to wear hats for a few extra weeks. Small consolation, yes, but we'll totally take it because hats are definitely having a moment. Everyone from Jessica Alba to Olivia Palermo has been spotted rocking a fedora in the last few months, so it's about time you learn to how pull one off while it's still cold enough. Click through the slideshow for hat styling tips and tricks we stole from style bloggers, plus a few of our favorite hats under $75. Be sure to check out Shopbop's huge sale, Beyonce's $85 jeans and how to do a waterfall braid.

19 Cute Ways To Wear A Dress Or Skirt In The Winter That Don’t Involve Freezing

I love jeans and have zero problem wearing them every single day, but one of my friends was recently telling me that she wished she could wear some of the cute skirts and dresses sitting in the back of her closet. "Why don't you?" I asked. It's too freakin' cold, duh! But hello?! That's what tights (especially fleece-lined ones!) and boots and warm coats are for. So for all of you ladies looking for outfit inspo on how to pull off a skirt or a dress during the cold winter months, we rounded up a bunch of amazing looks from street style photographers and style bloggers. Print out your faves, hang them near your closet and create killer outfits! Be sure to check out the Barneys Warehouse clearance sale, plus the James Perse online sample sale. [Photo: Lee Oliveira]

27 Winter Outfit Ideas That Don’t Involve Wearing Head-To-Toe Black

It's hard to get excited about getting dressed when the weather's cold and it gets dark before 5 o'clock— likely why so many of us fall into a winter rut right about now. But instead of feeling like there's no reason to care about what you wear (pardon the rhyme—not intended), consider this: A killer outfit equals a great head. Really though, think about the way you feel when you know you look damn good, it's hard not crack a smile, am I right? So applying that logic to the way you dress for the remainder of the winter should be a no brainer, except sometimes it's hard to come up with outfit ideas that keep you both cozy and cool. That's where style bloggers come into play—we can always count on them for outfit inspo. So before the winter blues start to set in, check out the 27 really well done winter looks we came across. They include ideas on how to wear bright colors, how to prolong the use of your favorite denim jacket, and my personal favorite, how to pull off white in the winter—it's actually a really good thing, you'll see. For more tips on how to rock an outfit, check out these tips. [Photo: Peace Loves Shea]

Check Out The SHEfinds Staff’s Holiday Haul (We Went Kind Of Crazy!)

We've been writing about sales A LOT since Black Friday, but what you might not know is that while we are covering things like Shopbop's Extra 20 and the Net-A-Porter Annual sale, we are also frantically shopping them ourselves. Our "editors' picks" often come right from our own shopping carts and we're constantly getting packages delivered to our offices (our poor UPS guy!). This year, we decided to share our haul with you since we found some pretty great stuff and a lot of it is still on sale. Check it out: Our CEO and online shopping expert Michelle Madhok lived up to her name, scoring a Karl Lagerfeld cashmere sweater for 40% off at the Net-A-Porter sale (it's still in stock), as well as an ombre scarf from Chan Luu (shop similar here). She also got a T Tahari puffer coat at BlueFly, which is an extra 20% off today with code FAMILY. The piece de resistance is a pair of Brian Atwood suede boots, which she scored at Saks OFF Fifth (shop similar). Our Editorial Director Jeanine Edwards is beyond obsessed with the Sandro shearling coat she got at Bloomingdale's on Black Friday (it was a floor sample, so she saved $200). Meanwhile, the rest of us were drooling over her Alexander Wang metallic Rockie bag when it arrived at the office after The Outnet sale (the rose gold is sold out, but silver is still in stock!). Our graphic designer scored this wool varsity jacket with leather sleeves at Levi's. Here's a close-up. Her necklace is Marc by Marc Jacobs (shop similar here and the bracelet version here). And here's my 70% off Equipment sweater that I told you about yesterday. It's still on sale! (And apologies for the awkward pose--how do the street style bloggers do it?)

What 4 Fashion Editors And Bloggers Wore To NYFW–From TJMaxx & Marshalls!

There are certainly no shortage of street style photos during NYFW--everyone has a camera and everyone is always ready with a pose. But more often than not, the clothes you see on lots of the most-photographed Fashion Week attendees come with astronomical price tags. So instead of doing another Fashion Week street style roundup, we actually hit up our peeps at TJMaxx and Marshalls who enlisted the help of some of their favorite editors and bloggers to style an outfit that included at least one item from either store. The result? Real looks, real women like you can go out and copy tomorrow without spending a month's salary. Click through the slideshow to see the looks. Don't miss Yosi Samra's new monogrammed flats and Rihanna rocking Alexander Wang x H&M.

How To Rep Your Team Like A Street Style Blogger This Football Season

If you're a girl like me, who loves a good tailgate and a football game, you're probably going to wear your favorite team's jersery or tee every weekend from now until the National Championship game and the Super Bowl in January. But sometimes, repping your team is tough. So many shirts and jerseys out there are cut too boxy and are a little bit too manly for fashion lovers like us. Dressing for the stadium or your besties watch party can challenging, when you want to look cute, but still represent your favorite team or hottie. Aside from my own personal tip of buying your jerseys in the little boy's section of the sporting goods store (they're cut slightly bigger than the little girl's sizes, but they're still tight enough to wear out), I had to turn to my favorite street stylers and bloggers to find out how to style my jerseys for this season's game days. Click through the slideshow to see what I came up with styled by the experts. And don't forget to check out: fashion sneakers, how to wear shortalls and cut out booties. Follow Street Style Barbie On Her New Instagram Account

The beautiful blonde-haired doll that we all dressed up and played with as children is making huge leaps into the fashion world. A little over a week ago, Lord & Taylor, Wildfox and Forever 21 announced that they were releasing Barbie clothes for adults #DreamComeTrue. Now, the 12 inch doll is taking it to the streets as a street style model. Barbie (aka. her creator, Mattel) got with the times, purchased a smartphone and made an Instagram account, @barbiestyle, where she has been uploading street style pics and styled photos just like our favorite bloggers. She has been pictured wearing Coach bags and Ray-Ban sunglassess and even reading Elle. Never thought I would say this, but I'm a little jealous of her. A rockin' bod, a dream house, a pink corvette and now a style blog...what a life! Right now Barbie is "Thrilled to be heading to New York, London, Milan and Paris this September for all four fashion weeks!" And we can't wait to follow her adventures. After all, "life in plastic is fantastic." And don't forget to check out: the Summer 2014 recap, ASOS 75% off sale and the Nordstrom clearance sale.

This Blogger-Approved Top Is The Best Use Of ‘Beyoncé’ Since, Well, Beyoncé

There's already a ton of Beyoncé-inspired clothes and accessories, but this top has to be our favorite. Walk in Wonderland blogger Sheryl Luke recently posted a photo of herself in the StyleStalker Don't Worry Be Yonce Muscle Tank ($49), which is now officially our new #MotivationMonday motto. It's perfect if you're going to the On The Run tour this summer, or having serious FOMO if you're not (Don't worry, Be yoncé!!). Oh, and did we mention it's under 50 bucks? This Twitter Calls Out Everyone Who Wears Absurd Outfits Just For A Street Style Photo

We've seen a bunch of Instagram accounts making fun of fashion bloggers like @youdidnoteatthat, but this might be the first Twitter account we've seen. The Sarcastialist, mainly pokes fun at street style photographs taken by Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist by placing witty and more realistic captions on them. Other photographers like Yvan Rodic, Jak and Jil and FaceHunter are also included. Basically, the whole point is to take street style bloggers' egos down a notch. We place them on such a high pedestal by copying their looks, buying their accessories, and working out till we pass out to be as skinny (even though we know they don't actually eat) and as beautiful as them, but The Sarcastialist turns them back into real people. With witty photo captions like "I did the kids' packed lunch today. Gave them half a leftover Domino's & two cans of Red Bull," and "What did you want? A skinny caramel macchiato?," The Sarcastialist gives these perfect people real life personalities and problems, and I like it. The Sarcastialist's message is that just like us, the people in street style photos and those who run successful fashion blogs are still people too. Yes, they do have glamorous lives, but they still do the same things that we do like shop for groceries, take out the trash, scrub the toilet, and run late for appointments. Can you even imagine your favorite blogger or street style model scrubbing her toilet or cooking her own dinner? I can't either, but it happens. They're just like the rest of us. Thanks to The Sarcastialist for reminding us of that. And don't forget to check out: light denim jeans, Kate Spade surprise travel sale, and Rihanna's normal look. [Photo: Twitter]

Yeah, we're talking about doing it justice in a head-to-toe outfit--Diddy white party style. And we're not alone. Tons of our favorite fashion bloggers have already tried this look in different variations, which is great for us, because now we know what does and doesn't work. We rounded up 11 of the best white-spiration looks to show you how it's done. From boyfriend jeans and skirts to shoes and jumpsuits, we picked out our favorite item from each so you can put together the ultimate white on white one white outfit. If These Girls Can Wear Stripes Without Looking Like A Sailor, So Can You

It might be Fleet Week in New York City, but that doesn't mean we want to look like sailors all summer long. Stripes are always trendy during these warmer months, but it is important to know how to wear them. First off, you can't wear horizontal stripes (especially navy ones) with anything red. That's just asking to look like you belong on a ship. Second, you probably shouldn't wear an all striped ensemble like a dress or a skirt and top combo. Oh, and most importantly, don't wear them with anything else nautical like anchors or lobsters, that just doesn't work. Since we've seen so many girls offending this trend by pairing their stripes with the wrong things, we had to turn to our blogger friends for some styling advice. Whether you choose to go the edgy route and layer black stripes with leather or you pair blue stripes with jeans, here are 7 ways to wear your stripes this summer. Copy the outfits in our slideshow, and you'll be good to go. [Photo: Peace Love Shea, A House In The Hills, Mija.Creators of Desire, Cupcakes & Cashmere, Lee Olievra, Gal Meets Glam]

6 Reasons Why Fashion Blogging Is Here To Stay

There has been a running debate as to whether or not fashion blogging was still a thing or not. With so many vloggers, fashion sites (like ours), retail store blogs and #instafamous fashionistas popping up, it might seem like the fashion bloggers are being out shined. I mean think about it, even the originals, like Man Repeller, aren't really shooting street style photos and writing about their outfits like they used to. And with the bloggers getting moved to the back rows of runway shows and being cut from New York Fashion Week all together, it might appear that they are no longer relevant. But while many people think that fashion blogging is going extinct, these gals are definitely not a dying breed. From designer collaborations and clothing lines, to Insta followers and paparazzi, these girls have found ways to build their own branded empires despite what the Anna Wintour's of the world may think. But if you need proof as to why fashion blogging is still "in," check out our slideshow. For more on bloggers, check out: what haul vloggers are buying this season, how to wear any trend, and beauty blogger must-haves. 3 Ways To Wear Shortalls Without Looking Like A 90’s Kid, As Styled By Bloggers

Admit it, if you're a 90's girl, you're eyeing overalls this season. And now that it's getting hotter, shortalls (as we like to call them) are great for spring and summer. But while you're thinking about buying a pair, you can't help but remember the ones you wore as a kid. So now, almost twenty years later, how can you make shortalls cool? How can you "bring 'em back?" Well, we have the answer. Following a style bloggers' tips is a great way to learn how to wear tricky new trends, like shortalls. So we looked high and low for the bloggers that "wore it best." While each blogger wears shortalls differently, they all make them look super cute and totally grown-up. 1. With stripes. Nautical stripes are always popular during the warmer months, and we already know that booties are great for spring. Pair your shortalls with both of these trends, like Sarah Yates of A House In The Hills, and you have the perfect casual daytime look. Get the Look: Blank NYC Overall Playsuit ($97.83), J.Crew Long-Sleeve Sailor-Stripe Shirt ($49.50), and Minnetonka 'Bandera' Boot ($94.95) 2. With pumps. Now that you're a "grown-up" you can dress up your shortalls with a great pair of heels and an embroidered top. If you style your shortalls like this, you can take them from day to night with ease. Get the look: H&M Bib Overall Shorts ($39.95), Topshop Embroidered Blouse ($76), and Charles by Charles David Pact Pumps ($99). 3. With leather: Always Judging took her "grown-up" shortalls to the next level when she wore a leather pair. These Rag and Bone Leather Shortalls are perfect for a night out with the girls. Pair them with a simple white button up and a pair of black booties and you're bound to make a statement. Get the Look: Rag & Bone Jean Exclusive Leather Short Overalls ($595), Topshop Casual Chambray Shirt ($58), and Luxury Rebel Siobhan Booties ($115.99 down from $165) For more style blogger tips, check out: 3 Ways To Wear Boots After Winter, 3 Grown-up Ways To Wear A Backpack, and Black And White Styled By Always Judging. 9 Trends That Were Cool WAY Before The Fashion Industry Said So

As fashion bloggers, it's our job to be ahead of the curve and in the know on style trends. But sometimes, we look at the runways and get a keen sense of deja vu... sneakers, sweatshirts, elaborate nail art. These are all the kind of effects we saw on every girl 'round the way back in 1994, and now, we're seeing them on the Paris runways. You know something's up when Chanel bedazzles a running shoe and sends them down the catwalk with gowns that cost more than your monthly rent--and everyone goes wild. For an industry that's supposed to be up on what's hot in the streets, oftentimes, trends are overlooked by some of the fashion set until some designer sends it down the runway, or some girl-of-the-moment is photographed by Tommy Ton. Kind of like these 9 trends... which were cool WAY before the fashion industry said so. Don't forget to check out these cool ways to store your jewelry, Katy Perry's new hair color, and 13 ways to throw the BEST wedding EVER. Style Blogger ‘Always Judging’ Shows How To Wear Black + White

Ever since the black-and-white palette made waves last spring (and fall) as a major color trend, the two-tone duo has been a nonstop go-to combo when it comes to getting dressed. And blogger Courtney Trop of Always Judging has offered an inspiring look for you to wear this spring. More in line with a sporty vibe than the usual feminine florals or the beach, Courtney opted for an outfit by New York-based designer Addison, which included side-stripe tuxedo pants and a loose-fitting tank. She also dressed up her outfit with heeled boots and designer sunnies. As for the fanny pack? Courtney styled it like a crossbody bag instead — so it's more fashion-forward than fashion faux pas. Check out our slideshow to copy her black-and-white ensemble. Don't forget to check out: Valentino's newest Rockstud collection, Oh Joy for Target, and nail art from your Instagram. New Balance Sneakers (Yes, Like Your Grandpa’s) Are The New ‘It’ Shoe

Last summer we told you that Nike sneakers were a street style favorite. But just like all things in the fashion world, trends change. New Balance kicks have become the new go-to for the fashion set. And we're not talking about what they wear to the gym. Street style subjects have been snapped in NB's just going about their everyday lives, and Rihanna was spotted in a light grey pair more than once! But even though everyone is wearing these sneaks for fashion purposes, they're also a great investment to up your gym wardrobe. Think of  how stylish you'll look running (or walking) on the treadmill in the same shoes as bad gal RiRi. Shopping for a fresh pair of kicks = the BEST way to keep our New Year's resolution, right?! Click the slideshow to see which New Balances's will get you noticed on the streets and in your next cardio class. Who knows, maybe you can be the next street style or Insatgram fitness star in a pair of these sneaks. What We Love Most About This Style Blogger-Approved Bracelet Is That It’s $38

Ever since the oversized Lanvin "Love", "Happy" and "Cool" necklaces came onto the scene, everyone has been coveting some sort of jewelry with one of these three sayings. But with every designer must-have item, there's a high price tag and limited number. Lucky for us, someone is on our side, or more like Gal Meets Glam is a girl after our own heart. She Instagrammed this photo of her Love Note Cuff from Anthropologie and guess what? It's only $38. Take that Lanvin! We knew there had to be some sort of alternative to the $990 necklaces. And this is the perfect one. Will someone please get this for us for holiday? #AddItToTheWishList. 8 Tips For Looking Like An Off-Duty Model (Or At Least Dressing Like One)

Models can be pretty annoying, especially when they do things that normal people do. It's one thing when they look gorgeous in a magazine or on the runway, that's why they're models. But it's another thing when a model looks good rolling out of bed after going out the night before, it's just not fair. Well, we're here to even out the playing field with some helpful tips on how to get an off duty model look. Surprisingly, you probably already have some of the things you need, like sneakers and a jean jacket. But it's not just about the clothes, it's also how a model wears them. Click the slide show to see what models wear and how they wear it when they're not in front of the lens (the photo shoot lens, that is). 9 Things Street Style Stars Know That You Don’t

Ever wonder why the same girls seem to appear on every street style blog out there from the Sartorialist to It's like there's a fashion elite of New York City and Milan girls who get all the good photo-ops while the rest of us have to sit on the sidelines. Well, not anymore! Find out what the secrets are to becoming a street style It Girl. After all, you only live once, but your street style photo will live forever. Street Style Stars Make Nike Sneakers The Next Big Thing

Last fall we told you that wedge sneakers were here to stay, and this year we're seriously coveting slip-ons, but there's another sneaker that has the fashion world buzzing: Nikes. That's right, we don't mean the cool high-top or wedge styles, we mean full-on Nike athletic sneakers, like the ones you wear to the gym. The Nike trend was first spotted where all the best fashion inspiration comes from: the streets. These sneakers have been a street style favorite for some time now, and we don't think they're going away anytime soon. Nikes consistently pop-up on the feet of street style subjects week after week, and we promise they aren't being snapped leaving the gym. In fact, they're usually captured in these shoes outside fashion week shows or just going about their everyday lives. It's kind of cool to see the high-fashion clothes mixed with the age-old sneaker. The trick to mastering this trend is to get a pair of Nikes that are either crazy bright/colorful or all black and sleek. Either way, you can wear the sneakers now as a fashion statement and keep them forever as your gym shoes. Now that's a trend we can definitely invest in! Click the slideshow to see which Nikes will get you noticed on the streets. Who knows, maybe you can be the next street style star in a pair of these sneaks. Baseball Hats: A ‘Borrowed-From-The-Boys’ Trend We’re Not Giving Back

Batter up--it's almost baseball season. Well, baseball hat season for us. In our version, team logos are out, and studs, metallic accents and lots of leather are in. Baseball caps have been a street style favorite for a while now, but we knew the trend wasn't going anywhere when we saw them on the runway at the Fall 2013 Hervé Léger by Max Azria show (above). We love how the hats add a tomboyish touch to HL's super sexy dresses, and the look is surprising easy to pull off at home, too. Styling tip: wear hair down in loose waves - it's casual, but not too sporty. Or pair the hat with a playful graphic sweatshirt (like these) and sky-high heels. A leather baseball hat also looks great with statement earrings and a dress. We could go on... Will you be wearing baseball hats outside of the stadium this spring? Click through the slideshow to see some of our favorite styles. For more of this season's trends, check out tulle skirts, PVC flats and ankle strap heels.
