I’ve never been makeup savvy. I could get by with my day-to-day routine, which never consisted of that much to begin with. But I had my best friend in high school who would always do my makeup whenever we had a sweet sixteen party or trekked into the city for a night out, so I never really had to learn how to do my own makeup. Then I left for college, and I finally had to force myself to learn how to do my own makeup… yikes! I’ve picked up some basic skills throughout the years, but have definitely maintained my lazy girl attitude to makeup. I like keeping things simple and only really doing what’s necessary. So here are some of my tips and tricks to look great, with minimal effort because #lazy, duh.
Face. I’ve always been pretty good at doing my face makeup. I like to keep it simple with some powder foundation that fits my skin tone like the Maybelline Fit Me! Powder.
Then I like to apply some bronzer on my cheekbones, just for some extra color (or if I’m feeling a little pale!).

Eyes. During the day, I really would only put on a little bit of mascara if I put on makeup at all. But if I want more color for a night out, I use my e.l.f. Shadow Palette. It’s just a few colors, but I know that they work for me, and that’s all that I need.
Lips. I am luckily #blessed with naturally colorful lips, so I’ve never liked using lip gloss or lipstick. I’m obsessed (and might be addicted, it’s concerning) with Vaseline and Aquaphor, so I apply some right before I leave the house, and also don’t go ANYWHERE without a mini tube. It’s my easy trick to not have to deal with another thing of makeup.
Aquaphor Lip Repair, $3.99
