The One Thing You Should Never Do When Storing Handbags
November 23, 2015
One of the biggest myths to come from fashion magazines is to hang our handbags on a hook. While this may be efficient for space, in the long-term, it’s not worth it, and here’s why.
According to Jordana Paige, by hanging our handbags on a hook, the weight placed on our bags can actually alter and affect the shape of even the most lightweight purse. This also will change the shape of the bag handle over time because the hook will eventually mold the handle to fit the way it hangs off the hook. And unless your shoulders are shaped like a hook, this won’t feel natural or comfortable on your body.
And that’s it! It’s a simple explanation that will save your bags whether they’re worst $15 or $1,000. We highly recommend storing your handbags by placing them on shelves. If you have space, a bookshelf is a good place for them. It adds a nice touch of personal style to your room. (Bonus points if you have a walk-in closet, also we’re extremely jealous if you do.)
