We’re all guilty of shoving our feet in to too-tight or too-high heels all for the sake of fashion sometimes. Having a great high heel look can be a must in certain situations, like weddings or interviews, but what’s absolutely NOT essential is causing physical harm to yourself. Just ask Victoria Beckham, who’s doctor prohibited her from wearing heels because they were ruining her feet (don’t worry, she looks really cute in sneakers).
The truth is that some shoes are definitely not worth wearing, because of the harm they cause to your feet. Just ask a doctor! Well, MamaMia did and the results are in: cheap stilettos are the WORST heels for your feet.
According to podiatrist Laura Gleich, “Stilettos with a very small base are the most dangerous kind of heels.” Why? Because you can roll your ankle or fall down in them. Ouch!
What’s even worse? Cheap stilettos made of plastic or pleather, rather than leather, are harmful because of the blisters they cause. The combination is a very painful one!
So, there you have it, girls. If you absolutely must wear high heels, opt for a good quality leather pair with a wide heel base. We like these L.K. Bennett Sersha pumps ($275):
