Two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank is the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s 2005 Ambassador for a very special initiative with Saks Fifth Avenue, Key to the Cure. Since 1999, Saks has donated over sixteen million dollars to fight women’s cancers. All Saks Fifth Avenue stores will donate 5% of sales and Off 5th stores will donate 2% of sales up to one million dollars on October 28 & 29 to benefit the Women’s Cancer Research Fund, a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation. These funds will be distributed to women’s cancer organizations across the country.
Including Hilary’s t-shirt. It was designed by Diane von Furstenberg exclusively for Saks. $33 (out of a total purchase price of $35) from the sale of each t-shirt will benefit EIF’s Women’s Cancer Research Fund. The “Love is Life. Life is Love” screenprint is adorned with Swarovski crystals.

Mercedes-Benz USA will make a generous donation of $1 million to Saks Fifth Avenue’s Key To The Cure through the sale of 750 Signature Edition 2006 R-Class vehicles, built exclusively for Saks. When there’s a charitable cause the cross-promotions are apparently limitless. Personally, I think it should have a pink dashboard or maybe pink plush interior.
