This Is What Christian Louboutin's 'Cinderella Slippers' Look Like
July 7, 2012
Most women consider a pair of regular Christian Louboutin pumps to be their “fairy tale” shoe, and now the famed shoemaker has paired up with Disney on a Swarovski-crystal and lace reinterpretation of Cinderella‘s glass slipper that will appeal to your inner 6-year-old as much as your inner Carrie Bradshaw.
Instead of using clear plastic or actual glass (which “makes a really ugly foot”), or lucite (which he called “very ’60s or sort of punky”), Louboutin used lace to create the slipper’s transparent quality. In addition, he added butterfly detail, imagining that while Cinderella tended to her chores, the delicate creatures landed at her feet.
But not every woman will have the chance to be a “modern-day Cinderella;” the limited-edition shoe will not be available for purchase. Instead, 20 pairs will be up for grabs through a giveaway Disney and Louboutin are running on August 17. Stay tuned for more details on how to enter and win the epic shoes!
