10 Lessons You Learn In A Sorority That Are ACTUALLY Useful In The Real World
April 9, 2014
Alright, I’ll be the first to admit it. Sorority girls don’t have the best reputations. In movies and on TV we’re labeled as fake, dramatic, drunk, blonde and promiscuous, but believe me, these stereotypes are NOT necessarily true. Yes, we party, but who doesn’t in college? And let’s face it, in ANY group of college girls there is going to be a little drama. But there is a lot more to being in a sorority than you think. I graduated from college about a year ago (GASP! Has it been THAT long already?!), and when I look back on “the best years of my life,” my sorority sisters are in almost every memory. But when I reminisce on the times I spent with my sisters and living in our gorgeous 20-bedroom mansion, it’s not the spring breaks, formals, socials or tailgates that stand out or come to mind. It’s the times I spent hanging out on the front porch laughing till I cried, the lazy days and nights we spent huddled on the couch, and all of the valuable life lessons that I learned. The experiences that I had as a member of my sorority definitely shaped who I am today, and gave me the confidence and tools that I needed to succeed in my post-grad years. So whether you were in a sorority or not, or you are considering joining one, check out the slideshow to find out all of the positive life lessons you can learn by accepting a bid.
