When I was in high school, every June was break-up month. As the end of the school year approached, all my friends in couples ditched their boyfriends just in time for summer vacation to let out and all those Grease-style summer romances (read: summer hookups) to get started. If you weren’t single by July, you weren’t going to have a very fun or eventful summer – or have any good stories to tell your friends in September.
Now that we’re all in our late twenties/early thirties – it’s still better to be single in the summer (sorry, married people!). Click through our slideshow above to find out why. Or better yet – leave a comment below with the reason YOU’RE happy to be single this holiday weekend :)
