Target Strikes Again! This Time They've Converted Me On the Whole Halloween Thing...
October 11, 2011
Well, sort of. If you’ve been keeping up, you probably saw my rant a few weeks back about how Halloween is probably my least favorite holiday. I am totally that mom who still hasn’t gotten her kid a Halloween costume and I’ve already decided any trick-or-treaters we get are receiving silly bandz, not candy.
You’d think when Target challenged me to have some Halloween fun with their new decorating how-tos, I would have said “No way.” But no–I accepted the challenge and believe it or not, I actually did have fun.
That’s my Halloween spread above and what do you know, I actually carved a pumpkin. For the first time in my life! Target has this step-by-step tutorial that walks you through the process of how to carve a pumpkin so it’s super easy. They also have how-tos for making the cute favor bags and stencils for iron-on graphics.
Part of the reason I feel less than excited about Halloween every year is because it’s turned into candy-filled fright fest. Not your idea of fun, either? Don’t give up on Halloween just yet. Target has everything you need to create a kid-friendly Halloween celebration right at home. Just invite a few kids over in costume and do some fun, easy crafts then eat pumpkin-y treats. Here are a few goodies I recommend to make craft-time a success.
