14 Wedding Trends That Are OUT For 2014

 1. Wedding dresses with dramatic backs: They might have been huge in 2013, as everyone from Rosa Clara, Amsale, Reem Acra and Lela Rose touted gorgeous gowns that revealed the backside. But this year, expect more classic styles that cover up your best assets.  [via KT Merry]

2. Gold everything: We'll always love gold, but it sure was played out in the wedding world last year. It's totally acceptable to add in few gold items here and there, but gold everything is overkill. [via Wedding Star]

3. Photo booths: Gone are the days of photo booths with gaudy feather boas, oversized sunglasses and mustaches on a stick. Think of other creative ways to entertain guests, such as branded step and repeat signs. [via JIHM Booth]

4. TOMS for wedding shoes: Brides, grooms, maids and flower girls were spotted near and far wearing TOMS this past year. While it is great to give back, there's a time and place to wear TOMS and it's not at your wedding. [via TOMS]

5. Chalkboards: Chalkboard wedding signs, menus and seating charts were a huge trend in 2013. While it is a fun rustic chic trend, we're excited to see it put to rest this year. [via Etsy]

4. Gatsby-themed weddings: Thanks to The Great Gatsby, there were a ton of art deco-themed weddings last year. Brides set the tone with gilded invites, wore beaded art deco-inspired gowns and toasted with vintage champagne coupes. It's only a matter of time before there's a new movie theme that catches on. 7. Floral crowns: Instead of elaborate veils, 2013 proved to be the year of the floral crown. Brides were obsessed with the gorgeous boho look, which has been put to rest for the new year.  [via Ryan Ray Photography]

8. Long sleeve wedding gowns: It all started with Kate Middleton's long sleeve lace wedding gown, which exploded in 2013 with every designer from Marchesa to Temperly (pictured left), and everyone in between. While it's a gorgeous style, long sleeves are out for 2014.

9. Mr. & Mrs. Chair signs: We saw these at pretty much every single wedding last year. Sure, they're cute, but do you really need name tags for your chairs? This trend is out for 2014, so try something like balloons if you want to mark your seats.  [via BHLDN]

10. Hay bales for seating: Country chic is out for 2014, which means hay bales are too. Time to resort back to chairs for seating this year. [via Ryan Ray Photography]

11. Mint green bridesmaid dresses: The color of the year is Radiant Orchid, so say goodbye to mint green bridesmaids dresses this year. [via Ryan Ray Photography]

12. Bamboo chairs: Bamboo chairs are the most common wedding chair rentals of all times, and they've recently become a bit played out. Opt for different styles of chairs if you want your wedding to stand out and be unique. [via KT Merry]

13. Ombre wedding cakes: Ombre hair is out, therefore so are ombre wedding cakes. Less is more when it comes to the cake these days, so lay off the elaborate tiers and traditional fondant styles this year. [via Butterfly Bake Shop]

14. Succulents: They were fun while they lasted, but completely played out for 2014. Time to find a new plant or flower for your bouquet or party favors. [via Ryan Ray Photography]
