I love a good button down. They’re such a great base, plus when are they ever not in style? I’m actually more into them than ever—probably because ever since I started getting rid of all the expendable clothing in my wardrobe, I’ve found myself wearing variations of a few basic essentials, with button downs being one of them. I’m personally drawn to both the oversized kind that I find on my husband’s side of the closet, and the loose silk versions that can be acquired from Sandro and Equipment—both styles just look so good with vintage Levi’s and cashmere sweats—but the gamut of outfit ideas runs larger than that. Truth be told, most of us have at least one button down shirt in our closets—whether it be solid white, denim, or plaid—so I was inclined to put together a collection of 15 outfits ideas that each begin with this wonderful basic. It probably won’t hurt that you likely already have some of the clothing needed to throw these together, so once you’ve seen the looks, feel free to get started.
