Whether you were a cheerleader back in high school, or you hated them for their preppy attitudes and too-tight uniforms, you probably have some sort of opinion on pom poms. Those little balls of shiny cotton, yarn or foil were either a huge part of your life, or you spent four years wishing they would disappear. If you were one of the gals that spent your life loving them, then you’re in luck, because pom poms are back from your past. And if you hated them back then, that doesn’t mean you can’t embrace them now.

Ok, so the maybe new pom poms that are on a ton of this season’s clothing aren’t exactly like the obnoxious ones that cheerleaders use. They’re more like those little colored balls that you used to glue on things in your kindergarden art class. Regardless, they just became fashionable. We know it seems kind of weird, but this trend can be really cute. Having pom pom balls on the edges of your tanks, skirts, printed soft shorts, and rompers adds a little summer fun to your outfits without making you look like a five-year-old. We promise. And if you don’t believe us, we’ll prove it to you in our slideshow. Check it out.

Check out these other trends: light wash denim, Birkenstocks, and printed skirts.
