Who’s ready for Memorial Day weekend? We know we are–three day weekend, here we come! Memorial Day weekend is possibly the best holiday weekend, like ever. It’s the official kick-off to summer. What could be better than brews, booze, barbecue, and beach days! This Memorial Day weekend is supposed to be a mix of sunshine and summer showers so make sure you dress accordingly. We’ve got all of the Memorial Day outfit inspiration you need to start the summer off in style.

It seemed like the time would never come but it’s finally Memorial Day weekend. The winter drug on but May really flew by. It’s about to be June, can you believe it? We don’t know about you, but we sure are ready to break out our summer wardrobe. From shorts, skirts, dresses, sandals, and bathing suits, summer fashion officially starts Memorial Day weekend. For those of you who listen to Fashion Police, it’s now an acceptable time to wear your summer whites (finally!) in every way shape and form.

This holiday weekend, whether you’re spending it at the beach, a family barbeque, picnic with your significant other, or day drinking with friends, we have all of the Memorial Day outfit ideas you need. Grab your suntan lotion, hat, and patriotic-themed accessories–it’s time to plan your outfit for Memorial Day weekend!

What To Wear For Memorial Day Weekend?

1. Sun Dress + White Sandals + Your Favorite Sunnies

If you’re spending Memorial Day with family and friends at a casual holiday event, your outfit should fit the occasion. A sundress is a perfect option for a hot summer day in the sun (just don’t forget your sunscreen). A red, blue, or white sundress will give you extra Memorial Day outfit points. Pair the dress with a pair of white sandals to celebrate the start of the season. Your shoes should be casual and comfy, yet still make your outfit look together. And of course, you always need a pair of sunglasses to shield your eyes from the bright sunshine.

2. Overalls + White T-Shirt + Wedges

Overalls are back in style for summer–take our word for it. If you get hot easily, wear a pair of overall shoes instead of pants to help keep you cool. For family events, wear a classic white t-shirt under the overalls.  If you’re going to be at the beach, out on a date, or doing anything with friends like day drinking, you can wear a patriotic-themed bralette under your overalls to make them a little sexier. Wedges are the signature heels of summer so wear a pair with your overalls to dress up the ensemble. This Memorial Day outfit is so easy to put together.

3. Graphic T-Shirt + White Jeans + Espadrilles + Belt Bag

Memorial Day weekend fashion means it’s finally time to break out your beloved white jeans. We know you’ve been waiting all winter for these babies to come back in style so take advantage of this summer fashion moment. For a super casual Memorial Day outfit, wear a graphic t-shirt (extra points if it’s blue, red, and/or white) with your white jeans. Instead of wedges, opt for a pair of summer flats like espadrilles as footwear. And instead of carrying a purse, rock a belt bag to show everyone you’re on top of the trends this year.

4. Off-The-Shoulder-Blouse + High-Waisted Shorts + White Pumps + Red Lips

So, you’re meeting your significant other’s family for the first time this holiday weekend–eek! What on earth should you wear for Memorial Day? For a fancier Memorial Day outfit pair a pretty blouse, like this off-the-shoulder style top with a pair of high-waisted shorts (just make sure they’re not too short). When it comes to footwear, choose a pair of classic pumps or wedges in white, of course. You’ll look sweet and sophisticated without seeming like you’re trying too hard. To finish it off, wear a red lip. Classic.

5. Pretty Blouse + Distressed Jeans + Heeled Mules

Memorial Day doesn’t mean you have to show a ton of skin. If you’re attending an event where you need to be a bit more modest or you’re just not comfortable in shorts and a skimpy shirt (no shame), wear a nice blouse top. Make it blue, like this striped one, to fit the holiday theme. You can wear a pair of jeans on buttom, but make them distressed for a more fun and casual look. For a shoe style that’s in between heels and flats, pick chunky heeled mules.
