4 Major Health Benefits Of Drinking Apple Cider Vinegar
November 2, 2015
I’ve already told you how apple cider vinegar (ACV) is great for your skin, so now I’m going to tell you how amazing it is for your health. It might take a little getting used to the taste, but trust me, you’ll love the benefits. Here are four internal benefits from ACV.
1. Aids digestion. ACV aids digestion by “stimulating the flow of enzymes and saliva in the mouth,” according to Patricia Bragg, N.D. Ph.D. It also increases the amount of stomach acid, which is good because food cannot be completely digested if there isn’t enough stomach acid.
2. Soothe a sore throat. Drinking ACV will help balance the pH level of your throat. It also kills bacteria and loosens phlegm, making it easier to breathe and swallow.
3. Lower cholesterol. A 2006 study proves that the acetic acid in ACV lowers “bad” cholesterol and triglyceride levels rats. Drinking a couple of tablespoons of ACV a day will help keep your cholesterol levels at a normal range.
4. Stabilize blood sugar levels. ACV is a great ingredient for those with diabetes. There are various studies that show ACV lowering glucose levels after eating a meal. It’s also said to help lower fasting blood sugar levels in the morning if you drink a little ACV before bedtime.
There are a bunch of other internal benefits of apple cider vinegar (like losing weight) but they have yet to be scientifically proven.
If you want to start adding ACV into your diet, it’s best to ask your doctor first. Also, I wouldn’t recommend drinking undiluted apple cider vinegar because it’s very acidic and can wear down tooth enamel. Mix one to two teaspoons of organic ACV with water. You can add honey or stevia to make it taste a little sweeter!
