4 Ways To Make Your Wedding Day Manicure More Modern
August 5, 2015
Of all the decisions you have to make when planning a wedding, it’s pretty common to put off deciding on a big-day mani until the last minute. But lest you become overwhelmed in a pinch and pick a color or design you’ll regret, we got the inside scoop from Greg Salo, owner and founder of Caption Polish, on how to modernize your wedding day nails. Mull over his tips and you’ll be better equipped to choose the perfect polish on your special day.
– Stay away from matchy-matchy. When choosing a wedding day color, you’ll want to steer clear of a polish that will outshine your ring and dress. This is why pale pinks and milky whites are so popular, but less traditional brides are welcome to break the rules with a full set of pale blue nails like Caption’s Come Up For Air. Whatever hue you choose, just please don’t try to match the bridesmaid dresses.
– Try a new nude. A stunning way to wear nude nails is to select your usual go-to nude shade, then have a nail artist polish them with an intricate lace or floral pattern. We just launched Caption Art Screens, a new set of nail stamping kits, which makes a design like this super easy to DIY.
– Modernize your French. Because a French manicure will look dated these days, why not try a metallic lunar eclipse design instead? It’s the reverse technique just using a thin tapered line in warm gold outlining the curve of cuticle. It’s still clean and elegant.
– Experiment with nail art. Yes, nail art is totally okay for the wedding day. We have brides that love using our Caption Top Effect in Come To Mama, a clear polish with the finest particles of gold pigment over your natural nail. It’s subtle halo shimmer catches the light at different angles keeping it chic, but not overpowering.
