Now that we’ve fallen back into winter weather, you may find yourself feeling a little down as the days get colder and darker. Don’t fret! This season affects us all in many different ways. But if you just aren’t feeling the holiday cheer, the you may want to try some of these simple ways to boost your mood this winter.
.Work out your bad mood. Go ahead and get an early start on that New Year’s resolution, and try exercising when you feel yourself going to a negative head space. A blast of endorphins will do you a world of good!
.Brighten up your wardrobe. If you’re anything like me, then black is probably a staple in your winter wardrobe. I mean it’s always fashionable and looks slimming, but that dark color may also be dragging down your mood. Stock your closet some selections that have calming colors to brighten up your day.
.Do your spring cleaning now. With Christmas coming up, you may find yourself surrounded by a lot of clutter, which can lead to anxiety. So free up some space in your apartment (and your mind!) by getting rid of the unnecessary items that are crowding you.
.Give yourself a little treat. Food can be a major pick-me-up, so treat yourself to a little chocolate, cinnamon or mint treat, as all of these have been known to have positive boost on moods. Plus, they’re delicious, too!
.Install some mood lighting. Swap out those old, dull lights with bulbs that give off a warmer vibe. A less harsh lighting could be all you need to change your attitude.
