If you’ve ever been on Pinterest (be sure to follow ours), you’re probably pretty familiar with “Do It Yourself” projects. From home improvements to fashion design, the site is every girl’s #1 destination for DIY’s. Now that everyone seems to be super health conscious and open to using organic products, you can only imagine how many pins there are for make-your-own beauty products. Just scroll through your newsfeed, and you’ll be overwhelmed with all kind of beauty hacks, and most of them involve food.
Putting food and other natural ingredients on your face might sound scary, but I can assure you that it is 100% safe (as long as you aren’t allergic to any of the ingredients). In fact, it’s much better for you than applying moisturizers, BB creams and maskes that are packed with chemicals. While I understand the necessity of using store-bought concealer and foundation (the best way to hide your imperfections), it’s nice to give your face a break every once in a while and put some nutrients on it.
Since Pinterest is so over-saturated with DIY skincare treatments, I took it upon myself (you can thank me later) to sift through hundreds of the site’s beauty recipes and pick the best ones for you to try. In our slideshow, there are recipes that will fix your breakouts, brighten your face, moisturize your skin and even reduce your wrinkles. There is definitely a hack for everyone’s beauty needs.
Make one of these recipes on a night when you need some rest and relaxation, or when you’re having your friends over for a girls’ night in. Your skin will feel renewed and refreshed as soon as you try them. Don’t be afraid, DIY’s are meant to be fun!
