6 Recipes That Will Moisturize, Protect & Exfoliate Your Skin--All Using Vita Coco Oil
August 13, 2014
Last week, the SHEfinds staffers had the opportunity to attend the official launch party for Vita Coco Coconut Oil, and what we learned about coconut oil is not what you would expect. We knew there would definitely be food made with Vita Coco’s new product (which was great, because we were pretty hungry), but we were pleasantly surprised by how good it tasted and how healthy it actually is for you. I am definitely not a coconut fan and I try to avoid oil at all costs. I rarely cook with it, and I would’ve never considered putting oil of any kind on my skin (since I breakout so easily), but this event changed my mind. The flavor of the oil was actually quite tasty, but being the skincare/makeup lover that I am, I was more interested in coconut oil’s beauty benefits.
At the event, we caught up with Twilight actress Nikki Reed and celebrity nutritionist Keri Glassman to learn about all of the great things coconut oil can do for you. And after seeing how physically fit these two are and how great their skin looked, we were convinced that we needed to add Vita Coco to our diet and skincare regimen ASAP.
Coconut oil is packed with lauric acid, which boosts your energy and is great for your metabolism, so don’t be afraid to cook with it or add it to your morning coffee or smoothie. It’ll help to keep you going and energized all day long. But if you’re like me, and you’re more interested in finding out what the oil can do for your skin, click through our slideshow and try out Keri’s beauty recipes.
