6 Tips That Will Motivate Anyone To Workout Out In The Morning

We all know them… the 5 AM runners, 6 AM spinners, and the 7 AM weight lifters. Somehow they all manage to get a workout in before our day even starts – but, how?! Wouldn’t it be nice to start the day off breaking a sweat, rather than slugging to the gym after a long day of work? We wanted to know how the fitness junkies of the world manage their daily morning workouts, so we found some tips to help us get there!
Prepare the night before. Pick out your outfit, get your sneakers and socks ready, and pack your gym bag the night before. Do everything before going to sleep so leaving the house in the morning will be that much easier and efficient.
Don’t get up too fast. Yes, it’s 5 AM and you need to get moving or you’ll be late for your yoga class, but don’t push it. Once your alarm wakes you up, lay for a minute in bed, take a few deep breaths and slowly wake yourself up. You’ll be better prepared for your workout if you slowly ease yourself into your day.
Drink water! Many fitness professionals swear that drinking water when you first wake up is the best thing you can do. After 6-8 hours of sleep without any water, your body needs some replenishing. Drink water, and add some lemon if you want an extra cleanse.
Get some energy. You can’t go into a gruesome workout on an empty stomach – but you don’t want to be full, rolling your way to the gym, either. So, have a banana for a quick burst of sugar, or an apple for some energy. One pro even says she has two frozen dark chocolate espresso beans before a workout for the caffeine boost.
Listen to music. On the subway, in the car, or on your walk to your workout, listen to your favorite, pump-up, happy, giddy, dance music. Or even while you’re getting dressed, put on some music – anything to make you in the mood to move.
Go to bed early. You need your beauty rest – duh! Since you woke up before most people, you should go to sleep before most people, right? Make sure you go to bed at an early hour, so you can get a full night’s rest… and do it all over again!
