My grandmother is a 92-year-old woman from the deep South so it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that I grew up hearing tons of weird–borderline crazy–superstitions. She’s always got a few she’ll ramble off throughout the year, but they really go into high gear right after Christmas. As such, the last few days of the year are just bizarre in my family. We’re eating odd foods, furiously cleaning and shopping, the preparations are seemingly endless.
But you know what? We’ve had pretty good luck, which is probably why we keep doing the craziness year after year. So if you’re looking for some luck in 2015, I say give ’em a shot–hey, they can’t hurt.
And if you have New Year’s traditions or superstitions of your own, share them in the comments. I can’t be the only one who does these insane things.
