7 Things You Need To Know About Scream Queens, The Most Anticipated New TV Show This Fall
September 18, 2015
You must be living under a rock if you haven’t heard of the new TV show Scream Queens, airing on Fox next Tuesday, September 22nd at 8pm (set your DVRs!). Since there’s so much hype surrounding the series, we figured we should fill you in on some fun facts before the premiere.
1) The show is a horror-comedy anthology series
Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, aka, the team that brought you Glee and American Horror Story, created the series. Since it is an anthology, each season will center around a new plot line. The first season is about a set of murders on a college campus that involve the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority. The mystery focuses on revealing the killer in the school’s Red Devil mascot costume–who could it be?!?
2) The cast is incredible
Almost the entire 15-person ensemble is famous, with a few promising fresh new faces. We won’t name everyone here, but some highlights include: Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Nasim Pedrad, Nick Jonas, Nicey Nash, Abigail Breslin, Oliver Hudson and Lea Michele.
3) The opening credits are creepy AF
Ryan Murphy shared the main title sequence on Youtube a few weeks ago and the Internet went nuts. From the ominous theme song to the piercing screams, the promo left us with more questions (and nightmares) than answers as to who the Red Devil is.
4) It was filmed at Tulane University
Have to give a shout out to my school, Tulane University, for being the set of this series! Crying inside that I missed Nick J on the quad, but at least there are pics:
5) Every character is named Chanel
Ok, not every character, but the majority are named Chanel after Emma Roberts’ character. Her name is actually Chanel, but she’s too lazy to learn all her other sorority sisters’ names, so she just calls them Chanel #1, #2, etc. Makes it easier to remember every character’s name, no?
6) There’s no singing involved in the show
Even though this is a Ryan Murphy production, not to mention, the majority of the cast has a background in singing (Lea, Keke Palmer, Ariana Grande, Diego Boneta, etc.), there is absolutely no signing in the show. But that doesn’t mean the cast doesn’t break out into song once the cameras stop rolling.
7) There’s even more exciting casting news
Lucas Scott Chad Michael Murray is returning to TV! ***SPOILER ALERT***He will play the older brother of another recent addition to the cast, Patrick Schwarzenegger! So, this show officially has the hottest cast on TV. End of story.
