Not all trends are love at first sight–in fact, some you even hate at first. Remember the first time you saw wedge sneakers? Or super skinny jeans? Or those pointy-toe pumps from the Manolo Blahnik era? You hated them right? Ok, now raise your hand if you have all 3 of those items in your closet. Exactly.
The spring 2014 runways were no different. Now, as spring approaches, your favorite stores are filling up with new trends seen at the shows of Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Lanvin and more. This year, you’ll be doling out cash for therapeutic sandals (maybe this will be a saving grace for Sarah Jessica Parker‘s reportedly high-heel deformed feet?), jeans your mom wore when she was a teenager (Hello 1970s! Guess it makes sense that marijuana laws are loosening up…) and fringe everything (Lisa Frank would be proud).
Sure, these trends aren’t exactly what you’d call “must-have” right now, but trust, you’re only a month away from needing them in your wardrobe ASAP.
