Would You Buy Your Daughter a Breastfeeding Doll?

During yesterday’s Today Show, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb talked about a new doll that is causing quite the controversy.  Check out the video and you’ll see Gifford having fun with it (maybe enjoying it a bit too much, actually) while Kotb is not amused, even calling the doll weird.

I’m with Gifford and see nothing wrong with a doll that mimics breastfeeding. What’s the big deal? My daughter has a doll that mimics bottle feeding, complete with the suckling noises, and I don’t think anyone has a problem with that.

Breast Milk Baby Doll

It’s not to say that I don’t have issues with the doll. First, in order for the doll to start sucking your little girl has to wear a “magic top” that looks something like a training nursing bra…with flowers where the nipples should be. Awful. And the price? It costs a whopping $89.

What do you think of the Breast Milk Baby Doll? Would you buy it for your kid? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
