I buy fashion magazines for the photo spreads and easy reading. So why have I been having a tougher time getting through my Vogue magazine than say, copy of Les Miserables? Seems like there is just so much lingo to keep up on these days when it comes to the beauty and fashion industries. Well thankfully I found the ultimate resource for those of use who want to stay savvy on our fashion jargon.
The Wichita Eagle recently published the incredibly helpful Fashion ABC’s: A Glossary of Terms. From A-line dresses to Zip-out lining, this list covers everything from the basic to the obscure. For example, I now know that those long, gaucho-like pants such as the ones seen here are actually called palazzo pants. And when different hues shade into each other on a garment such as this Oscar de la Renta dress, it is referred to as ombre. Who knew? Well know you can know all this and more. Check out Kansas.com for the complete dictionary of terms.
