Few fabrics can rival cashmere for comfort and class, and few cashmere designers are better known for quality and cutting-edge design than award-winning Lutz & Patmos.
Tina Lutz and Marcia Patmos started their partnership in 2000 and since then have designed
100% cashmere sweaters and accessories that are designed in New York and made in Italy. In addition to being in serious lust with their pieces, I also admire this talented duo for their belief that cashmere should not be all about the classic twinset, or five minute trends, either. That is part of their design manifesto, listed on their web site.
For the last three years, one guest designer per season has been asked to create their dream cashmere sweater and Sofia Coppola’s Fall 2005 tunic is my absolute favourite. It can be worn as a tunic over pants or a skirt, or as a minidress by itself. Accented at the hip by a leather belt, this beautiful piece is SO Sofia.
Also available this season are various sweaters in all weights of cashmere, from heavy to a nearly-sheer texture, in cardigans, turtlenecks, and even sweet lace tap pants. Find Lutz & Patmos at lutzandpatmos.com.
