A Find: Mackage coats
June 6, 2008
Okay, I will confess. The other day I visited the best new store to hit Vancouver's Main Street shopping district in a long time – Jonathan + Olivia. (If you're making your way up to our fine city to spend your American bucks – and I suggest you do – this is a must-stop-in destination.) There I spotted it…the most utterly beautiful, soft cream coat I have ever seen. I have been haunted by the memory of it since.
Maybe I go a little nutty over clothing but I gotta ask you…what do you look for in a coat? If it's just "protection from the elements", then stop reading right here, because you can get that anywhere. If it's glamour, sophistication and sex appeal, then you'll understand my flip-out over the Mackage Classic A-Line Trenchcoat ($550).
I simply love this line. I can be proud too, that it's Canadian and this just proves that Canadians KNOW winter wear! It was started in 1999 by designers Eran Elfassy and Elisa Dahan, and is available online at Saks.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go back to the store and salivate over the Gabriella for a bit.
