Celebrity makeup artist Sue Devitt perpetuates the ethnic trend in her fall 2005 collection, “One Thousand and One Nights.” The arab-inspired shades are deep and shimmery, like Alexandria, a midnight blue named after the Egyptian city. I especially like the satiny, blendable color not only because it has a hint of pearlescence, but because you can also apply it wet to intensify the effect or use as a liner. I’m really in love with Devitt’s Eye Intensifier Pencil. It’s a chunky, ultra creamy stick with a blending sponge at the tip. I used Kanpur, a coppery color that nicely offsets my eyes and creates just enough sparkle. By the way, bronze and copper were hot makeup colors on this year’s red carpets.
