A Transitional Summer to Fall Shift Dress by Milly

What: Milly Floral Shift Dress

Why: Is it just me, or did fall appear out of nowhere? Suddenly, every Web site I visit is featuring fall “Must Haves,” impending collections and chunky knit sweater dresses. Nature, however, has yet to get the season-change memo. With temperatures still stifling at ninety and higher, it seems unbearable to partake in full-on fall dressing just yet.

Luckily, I found a dress that’s perfect for August and October. This adorable Milly dress features a jeweled collar accented with a 1-inch decorative band, two layers of lining and a retro-boxy structure that’s perfect for cooler months. Its oversized floral print, pink background and cotton-silk combination also makes this mini a perfect late summer selection. Now, pair it with bare legs and platform pumps for a night out, or gold flats for coffee with the girls. When nature finally agrees that, indeed, fall has arrived, wear it with black tights, ankle boots and a short leather jacket to achieve an of-the-moment fall look.

Price: $300
