Trend Alert: Fitness Gear Fit for a Club (or a Dallas Cowboy's Cheerleader)
February 28, 2006
Because every lady dreams of executing J-Lo style moves on the dancefloor, Nike brings us a new line of female athletic gear: Hip Hop. For dancing, of course. Although the line is really only fit for the interests of an esoteric few, it’s been created in the name of the growing popularity of hip hop dance as a Jazzercise alternative. Of course, I don’t spend my free time breakdancing on pieces of cardboard with a B-Girl hat, but Nike thinks you might. So they’ve designed the Fantastic Fedora, an urban-styled hat with built in sweatband. Pair with the Nike Speed Corset and Britney eat your boppy heart out. And just so you aren’t geared up with no moves to bust, they’ve also got a DVD called “Nike Rockstar Workout– Hip Hop by Jamie King” in the works. Of course, King has choreographed everything from Madonna’s routine to “Moulin Rouge!” but don’t let that intimidate you from unleashing your inner dance diva.
