According To The Fall Runways, It's Totally Acceptable To Wear White After Labor Day
July 20, 2012
While it’s considered a major “fashion don’t” to wear white in the fall, isn’t fashion meant for breaking rules? This fall, designers sent models clad in the snowy-like hue down the runway in designs that were both glamorous and elegant, making them look like queens of a wintery wonderland. Ditch black evening gowns and opt for a white fitting floor-length piece by the likes of Yves Saint Laurent(or is it Saint Laurent Paris?). While we could just re-work our white jeans from summer into next season’s wardrobe, it looks like this color is meant for outerwear. Designers such as Proenza Schouler stayed true to their fashion-forward tastes, creating an asymmetrical and boxy-shaped jacket, while Sportmax chose to place this shade on a more feminine silhouette. And what type of winter coat isn’t complete without fur? John Richmond and Michael Kors bedecked their designs in the lushly soft material, from simple collar details to an all-over style.
