Aerin Lauder, heiress to her grandmother’s Estée Lauder empire, has stepped out as quite the businesswoman this year. Not only did she launch her very own line of beauty products, she also just announced two new collaborations: Aerin Erickson Beamon, a collection of costume jewelry, and Oliver Peoples for Aerin, a line of sunglasses. Both collaborations will launch in early 2013, and will be available on Aerin’s website and in major department stores.
According to Karen Erickson, the co-founder of Erickson Beamon, Estée Lauder’s jewelry and fashion archives were an integral part of the collection’s inspiration. In an interview with WWD, Aerin specifically credited a gold collar necklace given to her by her grandmother as inspiration and said it gives the 60-piece jewelry collection ” that element of heritage.” She also mentioned that along with gold vermeil, the collection will feature many natural elements like wood, shells, turqouise, coral, and flower motifs that function to lend a “modern luxury” feel to the Aerin Erickson Beamon line, which ranges in price from $150-$1,000.
Aerin’s union with Oliver Peoples is not filled with as much historical inspiration, but the pair of shades that resulted from the collaboration is worthy of praise. The oversize square silhouette is rendered in shades like moss green, light pink, and tortoise giving the frames a decidedly vintage vibe. The sunglasses will retail for $340.
